Got rid of another Amazon lift top coffee table, because It was too hard to lift and hard to move. After looking at Ashley lift top coffeetable at our local furniture store, and seeing how easy it was to lift the top, I was excited to find this for under $200 when the one at the store was $500. Wasn't sure about the color because I have more greige colors in my new home And I didn't want to pay another $100 for the greige version, so we took a risk and ordered this. It works great!! Easy to lift and lower the tabletop. We have a reclining couch so it would bump into the old table if we had it too close, but then if it was too far away we couldn't use it for eating. With this one, we nailed on glides to the bottom and now it's super easy to move it effortlessly back and forth with one hand! And it looks great in our new home! One more reason why I love Ashley Furniture. Ashley, can you please open a store in Northern Colorado?! One thing is it seems to chip easily, but I'll touch that up. ... show more

Let me start by saying I'm not a fan of particle board assemble-it-yourself furniture. They're usually poorly made, have bad instructions, and often there's something that needs to be tweaked for it to fit. This one had good instructions, decent fitting components, and when it was done it's pretty nice and solid. One thing that sets it apart is they included a lot of dowels to help stiffen it and support the hardware. Good idea! The assembly went fairly quick. It took about an hour overall and I'm a pretty handy guy. I did it by myself with one ratcheting screwdriver and a cordless drill. I highly recommend both. Set the drill for the very lowest torque setting or you'll strip out the holes! The only couple hole & screw sets that didn't fit well we're the ones that hold the wheels onto the bottom. The screws were too small and really were not the right type anyways. They'll probably need to be replaced long before the table does. Overall it's very nice. The one thing I'm not a fan of is the sliding doors. They're not solidly connected and rattle a but when you bump it a little. I'll find a fix for it. ... show more

Got exactly what I expected. It took about 1.5 hours to slowly assemble. If you are good with these type of projects, you could setup in 30-45 minutes. Table arrived with scratches on top that are visible. Which looks to be common among other reviews. However, if the table didn’t have those scratches, it is a great coffee table. ... show more

    • It's a nice table once assembled. Assembly is horrible.
The case it's self is nice, once put together. Unfortunately when I received mine, despite the box having so much Styrofoam I could insulate a small apartment, a few of the pieces were damaged. Some minor supports but nothing too important. Then when I started assembling it I found that there are no spare screws or dowels, so don't drop them in your mountain of styrofoam and most of the dowel holes are dug deep enough that the dowel adds no support because they are entirely on one side. Several of the pre drilled holes did not line up with corresponding holes on different pieces. Lastly the instructions are in a weird order. What I mean is it has you assemble it upside down (which is fine) but it will have you go along then go back and place screws and lockers in sections that would have been easily accessible 2 steps before but now are boxed in. You have to keep using the raising table top to get to them while none of the pressed board pieces are structurly sound yet. If I didn't have someone with me I could have easily broken it while assembling. Once it's together though. It's rather nice. It's sturdy and just what we need. ... show more
