I honestly think they are kinda expensive for being plastic but they were the cheapest ones I found. They were well made and worked very well. They look great and made hanging the lights a lot easier and the lights stay vertical instead of leaning when you mount them directly on siding and there are no gaps to try to fill in. Easy to install on my vinyl siding. Not a perfect fit for my siding due to the patterns I applied some caulk around the area where the wires come out to prevent water from seeping in. Also it is hollow in the back and not a solid block so I don't think it's a good option for mounting heavier products. Use for lighter wall lamp should be ok. ... show more

They can’t handle the weather and crack in a couple weeks. I was a week outside of my return window and I reached out to the manufacturer and they just told me to put some caulk on it. These are pretty expensive to crack so fast

This item is fine for what it is and what it is supposed to be. It's a block that helps to provide a level surface for mounting a light to a wall that is covered with siding on the wall. This particular version is meant for specific siding type with specific spacing. If you have wider or taller faces for your siding you would want to look for one of these that is designed specifically for that spacing. As a DIYer with rough sawn cedar siding on my house, I was given the opportunity to try out the Siding Mounting Block with Built-in Box. Although it didn't fit perfectly with my siding, it worked far better than simply mounting the lights on the siding. Before using this mounting block, my lights would tilt and lean, but now they are perfectly level. I was impressed with how easy it was to fill the small gap on the side with caulk, making it blend seamlessly with my siding. The mounting block itself is made of thick, quality plastic and feels solid. It comes in a white color, but can easily be painted to match the color of your vinyl siding or lights. The installation process was fast and simple - I was able to run wires through the center punch hole and keep them safely tucked away in the box. I appreciate the weep hole on the bottom that allows any water that seeps in behind the block to escape. The package includes the white siding mount kit, NM cable connector, and five screws. Although it didn't fit my siding perfectly, I was still pleased with the overall quality and functionality of this product. I also appreciated the great customer service provided by the manufacturer, who ensured my satisfaction with their product.
