I needed to mount the Blink wired floodlight camera (ASIN: B0B5VLCL1N) onto the wall. The now-removed light fixture was installed on a recessed round junction box that was right at the overlapped junction of two exterior wall panels. you can see the square mark where the light fixture was in the picture. No gaskets or mounting plates were used, so the junction box was full of sand. The Blink wired floodlight camera base is round with a foam gasket. With or without this gasket, there was no way sand wasn't getting underneath and into the junction box and into the wall, and I didn't want to use caulk to seal this gap. I used stacks of washers and long screws to mount the light fixture mounting plate with the Blink mount onto the junction box, and then I affixed the Blink fixture using the fastener in the center. Additional holes were drilled for the screws, and for the wires to pass through to the Blink camera. This light fixture mounting plate didn't quite have the right dimensions that matched the thickness of the wall panel, so a bit of caulk was necessary especially where the panels were overlapping. I think it looks nicer than before, and definitely nicer than without this mounting plate. It looks decently sturdy, but with all things plastic, I do wonder how long it will last in the sun.

Love these! They always make a job look cleaner and very nice curb appeal. Order a few and leave them handy. I guarantee you’ll find uses for them. I used the last one to mount my flagpole. Came out awesome. Look great up close and from the street.
