My wife ordered this as a gift for me because I almost always work on two screens at home, she thought this would be convenient for me when I am out of the office. At that time I really didn't need it and didn't try to use it. Well now I am working more out of the office and decided to start using it......it didn't work! I contacted support and they walked me through how to install and connect and everything...still didn't work. I thought that since it had been so long, delivered last March and it is now January of the following year, they would tell me that it was my problem, not theirs. To my surprise, the person I was working with told me that they would send me a return label and all I had to do was drop it off at the shipper, and they would ship me out a new one. Well sure enough I received the label and of course, it took me a couple of days to get it shipped back, I wasn't in any real hurry. To my surprise, the new replacement Side Trak came before I shipped the old one back. I hooked it up per their instructions and it worked flawlessly. Great purchase, a good product that I will get lots of use out of, and the best customer service and support I have experienced in a long time. ... show more

I bought this in mind for working on the go. If this is what you want it for, I suggest you do not purchase it. If you want to work from a desk at a hotel, or some other office/location but on a desk, table or a flat surface then go for it! It is not very sturdy. Like at all. I tried using it on the road from my lap desk, but it kept flickering. (as the passenger obviously) I would have to disconnect and reconnect. If it was a bumpy road, it would fall off. One of those times, it bent the cable piece that attaches to the monitor so I have already had to replace it. I tried using it from my lap on my couch (or any couch) and anytime I go to set it down (off my lap) the screen will fall off. Haha I just moved my legs and it fell off as I tried to type this review! Didn't even try to set it down. Which brings me to my next point, sometimes when it disconnects from falling off or what have you, it takes several tries of unplugging, plugging back in, and jiggling the cord to get the screen to come back on. However, when I use it from a desk, where it does not get moved at all - it works just fine. If I could figure out a way to make this sturdier, I would absolutely recommend this 100%. I have done some research on how to rig it, but haven't been able to find a non permanent solution. I don't always work away from my home office and don't want it to be permanently attached to my laptop. I hope this review helps! *********************************************************************************** I experienced some trouble with the monitor powering on, but no screen displaying. I reached out to the seller and they sent me a shipping label to return it and upon receipt they sent me a free replacement! That is what I call excellent customer service. Very easy to use , plug and play for the magnets are not strong enough to hold on to the slider contraption . Always falls off the back of the laptop . Convenient but I wish the side track monitor was a bit more brighter in display . Hard to look at being so dim .

UPDATING 3/8/21 AFTER 2/2021 BELOW - STILL NO RESPONSE FROM SUPPORT I LOVE this device. I work from home but on times when I'm in the office, having dual monitors will be fantastic. Also, with my freestanding dual monitors and laptop monitor, this gives me four working screens on my desk. The setup was very easy, and after a few minutes, it was working great. Now the less than perfect stuff. Tech support was an answering machine. There's no email address, there's no chat. Both are shown on the card that came in the box, but no email and no chat on their website. No one answers the phone line during business hours. So hope it works or you're out of luck. Second, why I was calling ... my monitor starting blanking in and out 3-4 times a minute. Sometimes it would take all my monitors down and sometimes just the SideTrak would go down. It was annoying. The instructions said the driver needed 2 minutes and it was much longer so I called. After about 10 minutes, the issue resolved itself. Maybe if I ever get that tech support callback, I can let them know. And lastly, the screen is clear, but it's not bright and there's no way to adjust it. If you go through Windows and try, the laptop monitor gets dim/bright, but the SideTrak doesn't change. So as much as I love this, it could be even better. ... show more

    • It was Decent just a few things wrong.

I love the idea of this but they can definitely do better with this product. For example, the brightness is so dark, I tried watching movies on it while I was doing other stuff on the main screen. when it hit a dark scene in the movie, you couldn't see anything or could barely make anything out and if you put it in full screen it was like 30 seconds delay between mouth movement and audio. The other issue I had is when I pulled it out then let it sit and rest, it would lean downward on the bottom hinge of the screen which over time would wear out the bottom hinge and break. The other issue is with how heavy it is on the laptop. it puts so much weight on your laptops hinges that weren't designed for that much weight to begin with, which would take a toll on your laptop screen's hinges and make it where the hinges would wear out and your laptop screen won't stay open. they aren't designed for this much weight on the back of the screen especially for long periods of time while working or gaming, etc. The price is a steal for this product but with these few issues, I just couldn't handle using it and had to send back. This is great for mobile work, if you travel, if you are on the go a lot and need to multi task while on the go, but while at home it is best to use an actual computer monitor or tv for your second screen instead of this. ... show more
