Description

What did God mean when He declared over the first man and woman:“LET THEM RULE”?I invite you to join me on a journey—a quest to discover God’s original intent for His daughters and sons. •Have men and women been designed by God to co-labor in shared ministry? •Or has He assigned them gender-exclusive roles and responsibilities? •Does the Bible clearly indicate that women and men can lead together? •Or do the scriptures forbid women from even considering such positions?Side by Side describes my personal expedition to discover God’s heart on the issue of men and women in ministry—an issue that will not go away anytime soon. Ignoring it or deploring it will not bring resolve—only further hurt and division. Could the collaborative leadership of women and men in the church be an answer to Jesus’ prayer for us to be one? Though uniquely diverse, we are part of the same spiritual family. Can we tangibly love one another with the same love? Can we truly serve side by side in the same army, standing together in the same battle against the same enemy whom we will overcome with the same power that raised Jesus from the dead? Let’s spend some time prayerfully processing this—together! Read more

  • A must read for those desiring to know Gods heart on women in ministry.
David Hess book “Side by Side” is theological, historical, and practical. It is theological in that he evaluate all of the text, that on the surface, lead us to believe that women are not to be used in ministry. With sound biblical hermeneutics he explains specific details of these texts and brings to light their proper application. The book is historical in the fact that it covers biblical and non-biblical women who were used by God. History proves that God has used women. The book is practical in the fact that DR. Hess interviewed men and women who worked side-by-side in ministry and gives practical advice of how men and women can work well together. Although it is a scholar work, it is also written in plain simple English. One does not have to have a degree in theology or in anything, to understand and grasp the points that Dr. Hess makes. In summary, the book does not give advantage to men over women or women over man. But rather Dr. Hess encourages all of us to flow in whatever gifting God has given us rather we are male or female. To work together side-by-side for the advancement of the kingdom. If the topic of women in ministry is a topic that you desire to understand this is a must read book. Having heard Dr. Hess teach the material in person, and after reading the book, I would strongly encourage both the book and the audio teachings. There is life changing revelation to be receive in this book. ... show more

  • What the Church needs today
Pastor Dave Hess of Christ Community Church, Camp Hill, PA, writes a compelling book, called "Side by Side." This book concerns how women and men are to be leading the church together. God created woman from the side of man's rib. We are not to do ministry alone, but together, SIDE BY SIDE. The book makes you think about women in the ministry. It gives a new, fresh perspective on ministering together—wholesome, informative, and biblically-based; the book will encourage women and men worldwide. Personally, I have known this pastor, teacher, mentor, author for 10 years and trust his words lead by the Holy Spirit. Remember, who was the first to tell the disciples about Jesus rising from the dead? A woman, Mary Magdalene! What a wonderful way Jesus is using Mary as the redemptive piece of woman. Purchase your book for yourself, and order extras to give to friends, family, and those in ministry to be encouraged. May God bless each of you as you read "Side by Side". Ann E. • Women an men leading together
Great book, gives in sites and references for further reading. Great book to read if you feel the Lord has called you into ministry, even if you don't have issues with this topic it will help you explain your position. Also you could refer this book to them.
