  • The old trusty dusty go-to board
Model: SB3001
I had one of these many years ago when they were made by DMI. Got out of darts for awhile and lost it in all the chaos of those times, then got back into darts again recently and needed a practice board for the house. It's basically the same as the other upper-end boards. Good blades, good action, hangs easily, moveable number ring, etc. My league plays exclusively on Blade 6 dual-cores but my old league used Bandits, so I just went with what I know. It's louder than the Blade 6, particularly closer to the bulls. Seems like the sisal is a bit coarser than the Blade 6 as well, but these are qualities I'm fine with. The Blades always sounded too soft/quiet to me (personal preference - they're great boards too of course). Also, the blades are painted white which will chip off over time but does not affect play at all. If you can get it on sale, get it. If not, it's still an excellent option and will last as long as the more expensive ones. ... show more

  • Winwho? Nodon't? This board is the business
Model: SB3001
OK, so here's the deal. A dartboard is a dartboard is a dartboard, right? Wrong. Even for a home hobbyist level dart player the wrong dartboard is little more than a pain in the neck. I played regularly with a friend at his home and decided I wanted to set up my own dartboard in my office at home. I selected a cheaper dartboard thinking it will do the job. I'd estimate that 1 in 12 darts I threw bounced out after hitting the wire, leaving lovely woodworm type effect holes in my desk. Not such a problem if they made it to the carpet of course but it was still annoying getting that many darts bounce off the wire. After 2 weeks I'd had enough, did some research and bought this Shot Bandit. The comparison difference is like night and day. Firstly the quality of the bristles, (or rather the quality of the assembly of the bristles) was far superior. Until I stood the 2 boards side by side I wouldn't have known but to see them together the other one seemed really bad. Then comes the embedded "blade" wire. Wow. It's really thin and has no staples. After a couple of evenings throwing till my shoulder fell off I happily noted that I only had one bounce out and that was because, (while going for a double, **ahem**), I hit the number ring. I have had no bounce outs at all from the "spider web" wire. The wire and number ring are powder coated white which stops them from shining so much when the lights are shining on the board, but also as the black coloured sections of the board are really black, this makes the numbers stand out and easy to read. The mounting bracket is a different concept to the board that I took down. You screw a large "disc" to the back of the board and this then slides down into a "U" shaped bracket that you screw to the wall. It's a lot larger than the typical metal bracket that a screw head slots into but that does mean that if you are mounting on drywall you will not get both sides of the bracket into the stud so invest in some decent wall anchors to make sure it's soundly fixed to the wall. This bracket system does help maintain stability of the board better than the old screw head type, and just like the other bracket type, does allow you to rotate the board to prevent wearing out that treble 20 area so badly. just rotate the board and then move the number ring round to put the number 20 back at the top. However, this does mean if you spend all your time throwing at the bull then you're not going to get any advantage rotating the board. Only throw at the bull minimally for practise and in games only when you absolutely have to, to get the longest life out of the board. There is only one way I would improve on this board and that would be to include the 3 rubber "feet" that you screw at intervals around the back of the board to give it even more stability on the wall. You can pick up such things at Wally World or somewhere but as I was removing another dartboard I took them from that. Now I have zero wobble factor when removing my darts from the board. Seems to me that you could pay a lot more for a Winmau or Nodor or whatever, but having owned this Bandit it raises the question why would you want to other than to have those names showing on your board? I'm not sure how paying another $20 or $30 on top of the price of this will get you any benefit. ... show more

  • High quality
Model: SB3001
I've been buying the Bandit since 1997.Believe me, I've thrown on just about every board out there and this is tops by far. No staples, self healing, they last a long time. Excellent dartboard.

  • Best board i ever played on!!
Model: SB3001
The only thing that i had a problem with is the people who ship our items. The box my board came in was totally damaged, i mean enough so that my U bracket for my board fell out or something! Because I didn't get one. I took care of the issue with costomer service, and everythings all good now. Now about the board! Everything about it is awesome, from the thin wiring to the white number ring. Almost all the boards I played on berore the SHOT BANDIT we pulled off the wires because of bounce outs or the wire getting mangled from heavy darts. The thin wiring on the BANDIT is the s***! I've had no real bounce outs with this board. "I mean because of the wires." The self healing bristles keeps my board looking brand new. Its only been a couple weeks and well over 1000 darts hit this board and its still beautiful. Its almost intimidating throwing darts at it. Nice bright white number ring easy to spot the numbers. Long story short! Best board ever. Not even for money. Period! No bounce outs n a board that will pretty much last longer then u want to play darts. GET IT! ITS WORTH IT! Even my freinds can't believe how good the board is. 5 stars for the SHOT BANDIT!!! ... show more

  • Great board but mounting challenge
Model: SB3001
Stout, durable board. Darts hold nicely. Solid construction. Only issue is size of mounting bracket. Because you have to drop it down about 2 inches into the receiving bracket, it did not fit into my cabinet. I had to modify the bracket so it only had to drop an inch. If using with a cabinet, be sure cabinet is large enough to hold. ... show more

  • Great dartboard
Model: SB3001
Great dart board, I won't pay 80 plus dollars for the big name boards when a Shot board is just as good if not better. I've had this board for a year now and it is showing no signs of wear at all and I throw darts almost every day.

Model: SB3001
Excellent dartboard. Rare to have fallen darts or bounce outs. I have thrown about 2000 darts at it already, had 2 bounce out, 3 fallen darts and it shows no sign of wear. Am using the Viper Defender II surround and rubber exercise mats for the floor in the pole barn. May replace my basement dart board with one of these!. ... show more
