  • Great MTB Shoes
Size: 8.5-9 Color: Black
These MTB shoes fit well once you’ve found the right size for your type of foot. It took me a couple of tries (and one return) to get the right size. I typically wear a Men’s 9.5 so I chose size 44 and they fit well for me. They leave me a bit of space in the toes and don’t cramp the widest part of my foot. I chose these shoes after using a set of Bontrager shoes for quite some time. I wanted to try a shoe with a different type of tongue that might be easier to get on/off even when they’re dirty. These are working out quite well. Some more expensive shoes come with two BOA adjusters , but most often you don’t need two BOA adjusters on your shoe since you rarely reach down while riding to adjust the squeeze of your toes - you mainly reach down to adjust the fit around your ankle. The BOA works pretty smoothly, but gets a little tight to loosen once the shoes get dirty. I mountain bike a lot so my shoes are constantly dirty even though I clean them every couple of rides. Dirt gets inside the BOA adjusters and then they become harder to loosen over time. Even so, they still work and are one of the quickest and easiest ways to adjust your shoe without having to unclip from the pedals. The stiffness of the shoe is great. You can certainly feel the force of each pedal motion going directly into your pedals. I’m using these with the Shimano XTR Platform pedals and had to use the shim that comes with the SPD clips because the size of the cleats on the bottom of the shoe would press against the platform on the pedal and was super tight. The look of the shoe is nice. I’m mostly black with a black camo-type design. It also has a reflective strip up the back of the ankle to warn any cars coming from behind that you exist. The shoes are easy to clean and have taken quite a beating over my last few rides and have lived to tell the tale. Overall comfort is nice. The shoes started out a bit tight around the ankle, but have loosened up over time, becoming quite comfortable. Overall, this is a really great shoe for the price. ... show more

  • Super comfortable and wonderful sole
Size: 11-11.5 Color: Green
Super happy with these. The upper is comfortable, even for my slightly warped feet. :) And the sole is a little softer than my Sidi's, so they grip better. Perfect for daily use, touring, and racing. I took a sharp knife and sliced a little bit of the sole off both sides around SPD cleat (3 minutes work) to give it a little more room and make engaging with the pedal perfect. The shoes don't open quite wide enough for triathlon-easy slip-in... like if I'm doing an Xterra/MTB triathlon and want to leave my shoes on my pedals in T1, but if I use my finger as a shoehorn across the top of the foot, I can manage it fine. They're just not ideal for that (but better than most). No one seems to make a good off-road tri-shoe. Very comfortable. I would purchase them again in a heartbeat! Color looks great. Subtle. And the lighter colored sole is unique and cool. ... show more

  • So far so good…41 Wide
Size: 7.5-8 Color: Black
This is my 2nd or 3rd pair of Shimano shoes, but the first for gravel. My foot has grown over the years (go figure) and I now wear a 41 EE… and as I expected, the 41 were a bit too narrow so I had to return them. I then learned Shimano offers a wide shoe on their site, so ordered and did my first ride today. These are a bit wider…would say more like a 41 E, but better than the straight 41. They may run a bit long in the length, as I felt I could have gotten away with a 40.5 wide if that were available, but I had no heel slippage at all. Very solid feel on the pedals. The reason for the new shoes is that after 1 to 2 hrs of riding in my older Shimano MTB shoes, (size 41), my second to last toe on one foot would start to hurt, and it can get so bad it’s hard to think about much else for however long the ride lasts. So I did about 2 1/2 hours in the mountains today and all good. I know that one ride isn’t much of a sample, but the shoes felt great for first ride out of the box. I didn’t have any of the reported slippage reported by other here, be it off my pedals, in the dirt, on the rocks, or in my house (wood floors). If things change (knock wood they don’t) I’ll add more to this, but so far, really like them. Was also considering the Sidi MTB Gravel shoe, but jumped on the wide when I learned about it. ... show more

  • Comfortable on and off the bike
Size: 9.5-10 Color: Black
I bought these to replace 25 year old Shimano SPD shoes. Those were great, and these are great too.

  • Not a typical Shimano sizing
Size: 11.5-12 Color: Black
ALWAYS wear a 47 in Shimano shoes (standard, not wide sizing)...bought these and knew immediately they weren't made to the typical Shimano shoe dimensions. In fact, the opening of the shoe was almost too small to slide my foot in...narrow sizing laterally and great toe touching front of toebox...these are definitely not business as usual in terms of Shimano shoe sizing. And of course, nobody stocks a wide 47 so I'm out of luck for this model. Yay. ... show more
