  • Needed a new Dive computer for a trip just what I needed.
This is just what I needed for an upcoming dive trip, I did a lot of research on what I wanted and this fit all the check-points. I can see this being a great piece of kit for the future. I would highly recommend this computer.

  • This computer does it all
I have owned several dive computers, from console to watch type. I prefer the air integrated to streamline my regulators. With an octo-inflator and a transmitter for tank pressure I am down to two hoses. Less failure points and drag while swimming that way. So when I found my old backup Oceanic Atom died (obsolete - not repairable) I was looking for something which could still receive my transmitter and also was more "at a glance" in providing all the data I would normally need during a dive. I read a lot of reviews and settled on the Perdix Ai as this fit all my requirements. I am VERY happy. All the information you need for a dive is on the main screen and a compass is only a touch away if you need it. The compass is very accurate and features a heading mark in green and directions which way to turn if you are 'off course' by more than a couple degrees. If you need it there is also a red mark for the reciprocal course. The unit supports all types of recreational diving, from open circuit with either air, NITROX or exotic gasses, or closed circuit. For gases it stores three so you can switch tanks with just a few pushes of the two buttons. All operations require only one button push except to turn it on. Powering on is the only time you have to push both buttons. All the menus are quite intuitive, and unlike any computer I have owned previously you can make changes during a dive. If you go off the main screen for more than several seconds it reverts to the main screen so I can switch to see my tissue loading or check the time of day and not have to push another button to revert. Very nice. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a full featured computer, especially if you have a compatible transmitter from a previous computer. (Most transmitters are made by Pelagic. I previously had Oceanic dive watches with compatible transmitters so it saved me a bunch of money!) One last point - the computer uses AA sized batteries and you select what type of battery, including the 3.7V types. The computer adjusts to the battery you select for proper voltage monitoring. I use photo lithium batteries for longer life and to avoid leakage from ordinary alkaline batteries. Included in one screen is battery voltage so you can know when to change the battery based on voltage drop from new. When an alkaline or lithium battery drops to about 1.3V you know it is time to change it before it dies. I never rely on the battery indicator on any computer since some batteries die rather suddenly once they get low, especially NiMH which start lower and die rather suddenly. ... show more

  • Great but deficient battery
Great computer however no more battery after 12 hours of use instead of 50-60 hours. It seems seller customer service windows is closed.

  • Awesome dive computer
Recently began diving and I really like this computer. it's easy to use and easy to read while diving. Really like the added feature of being able to download dives on my computer.

  • Essential
This is one of those pieces of kit you didn't know that you needed until you use it. Huge bright clear screen, very customizable display, tons of features (more than I need, but that's the point, right? Who wants to get a dive computer with fewer features than they need? ;) ) The replaceable AA battery is a clear winner - I get about 20+ dives before taking it out and either replacing or recharging it. Easy. The wireless link to the transmitter on the tank is great - real time estimates of how long you have before having to head up. The button controls are very clever - no moving parts to break and work well with gloves and fingers. Downloading your dive data by bluetooth to your phone and playing with the graphs afterwards is always a fun 'apres-dive' activity. Yes it's expensive, but if you are looking at this computer, you have already mentally committed to spending 700-900 on a similar device anyway, so now do the research and decide if the extra 100-300 is worth it to you. One of the best investments I've made. ... show more

  • Absolutely the best dive computer!
Super easy interface. Very easy to read in the water. Very intuitive. It’s customizable which is fantastic! Live this dive computer. I’ve had a few top of the line computers and I can tell you shearwater is the best!

  • Reliable
Excelent diving computer. With the wireless trasmitter the battery runs off quite often, but at least it's easy to replace.

  • Expensive but worth it.
Extra bright screen can be seen better than any screen I’ve ever used. Very intuitive buttons can navigate from the screen that has your life support on it to your compass screen with one button. Bluetooth your log with more information than most divers would ever need. Expensive but you get what you pay for ... show more
