My husband avoids shaving quite a bit since he finds it uncomfortable. I got him the SheaMoisture shave oil and the shave gel to help with irritation. He prefers a foam, but found this shave gel comfortable. He did really like the shave oil from the SheaMoisture line. I nabbed the gel for shaving my underarms, and tend to agree with him about liking foam better. Of course, this is subjective since a product like this is quite personal. The gel works to protect your skin during shaving, but personal preference leads me back to shave foam. No moostaches here, as this cow ain't stopping his shaving any time soon! Especially not after finding this wonderful product. I've always sworn by a specific shaving paste, which I've used for several years. Shaving cream just doesn't cut it, other kinds of shaving paste are too greasy, and the shaving gel from my past has been disappointingly thick and gummy. So you can imagine my hesitation with trying a new product. Well, I'm pleased to say I'm pleased with my shave! This product is more liquidly/runny than what I was expecting, which can get messy, but this has several benefits: - It applies quicker (no need to smear it around so much, a quick swipe across the face is all it takes) - It yields a closer shave - The razor rinses clean, easier and faster. - It leaves my skin feeling smooth and hydrated. This gel also has a slightly cool, minty, tingly sensation which leaves my face feeling clean & refreshed. I'm excited to continue using this shaving gel, and have added it to my cart again. I have been using their body washes for years. I love them. They cost more than the other brands that I replaced them with, but love them. So, I thought I would give this product a try. You it right, it's the most protective type of shaving product. This beats using cream, soap or foam when it comes to protecting skin and avoiding ingrown hair. The directions say to massage it into damp lineup area of skin, and that's a critical yet easy step. This way you get the thickest layer on your skin to be shaved, and it's the best way to go other than cost, of course. The gel is non-foaming which is built into the cost. It comes properly sealed, a seal that needs to be broken. It has a pleasant tea tree smell which I love, and it's better for my skin than alternatives. ... show more
