    • Easy transportation of my Firewood
I usually have all of my firewood in under my overhang but this year was different. I only brought a chord or so in under my overhang. I am rotating. So, my racks, other than the one under the overhang, are about 100 feet away. I usually wheelbarrow when the ground is solid. Well, February has been a very snowy month for us so far. 12 inches, then 6 and then 3. No melt. I ran out of wood in the overhang and looked for a solution. Obviously the wheelbarrow was out. I found this sled ... read the reviews and decided on the camo one after someone said they used it for hunting and had a hard time finding it because of the camo. So, when I store it outside my shed it won't stand out. It took me a few days to use it. The thing is very sturdy and dragging it over terrain other than snow, I don't expect to not scrape it here and there. In the time it took me to finally use it I was thinking I would need a wench or maybe a harness that I saw as a related item. But I don't think you need either. I installed the, included, rope to the sled. My approach was to fish one end of the rope through one whole and double not the rope on the end and then do the same thing on the other side. Works well and the nots tightened up fine. I pulled it over the foot and a half or so of snow. It was very easy, obviously, as it was empty. My first load I only filled to the brim of the sled. I wasn't sure what effort there might be and didn't want to overdo it. I pulled it to my overhang with ease and even pulling it over the brick patio of the overhang was easy. I wanted to stack it so the only thing is you need to bend over to get and stack. My next load I filled it to as much as I could without any of the wood falling out. It was filled to max. Again, pulling this sled over the snow was hardly any effort at all. This load I took right to my garage. I figured at this point it's so easy that when the sled is empty from my burn I will just go out to the wood pile in the back and sled another load in. It's that easy. Of course over part of my driveway took a little more effort than the snow but this sled made it possible to get my firewood out by my shed after some substantial snowfalls. I may even buy a second so I can put two loads in the garage. Great product! Well, made and fit my current needs. And who knows what else I can find to use it for. ... show more

    • Awesome all purpose addition to your home
This Shappell Jet Sled has been an asset to us thus far since acquiring a few months ago. It has been durable and steady and capable of carry its recommended capacity. We found the size to be accurately depicted as per description and it is just want we needed around our homestead. It is extremely versatile and we have used it to carry things around the home, in the woods, and in different weather. We purchased this sled in hopes of using it to help us unburden ourselves and increase/maximize our carrying ability and it has definitely lived up to its expectations. The only thing that I would change about it is I would upsize it even more if I had the ability to do so. I do enjoy that it is lightweight and I can handle it independently as can even a child if need be. It is a welcome addition to your outdoor adventures and you will enjoy it immensely if you purchase it. It would make a good Fathers Day (or Mothers Day) gift or just an additional to the families “toys” for hauling fishing/hunting equipment and much much more around the home. ... show more

    • Dinged & dented but Great product and worth the price
No box. Product came in dinged and dented. I guess either from shipping or just production. So do not expect perfect. Just a little disappointed that I didn’t have a storyline to go with the dings and dents. This is our 2nd one, after hauling out my harvest, my husband was explaining that the thinner one seems easier to guide through the terrain. So I purchased this for his birthday. Even with a harvesting bungee corded in it it floats, slides nicely over logs, is so much easier than the Dollie’s and snow is not a problem. You can also hook it up to your atv for long field hauls. Easier to get your harvest up in back of truck. All in all Great product and definitely worth the price. I just wanted come back to update this 2 years later! I still love it! ... show more

This sled is solid. Sturdy on the sides. Not flimsy as one may expect from a sled. I copied another users review/pictures and drilled 6 holes on the sides. (3 holes each side) and used 1/2 inch eye hooks with lock washers & nuts to create tie down points for securing game or gear. My main reason for purchasing the sled was for a deer drag. This sled certainly did the job. I harvested what was approx. 180# deer (after field dressing) and had about a mile drag out through deep forest, cedar swamp and dead fowls along the way. This sled handled it no problem. It did help that there was a bit of snow on the ground but I couldn't believe how sturdy and well this held up traversing over big rocks, logs and up and down hills. It barely flexed as I slammed over big logs and it would crash down a hill. My dad was walking next to me and couldn't believe the ease of the pull and our only regret is not purchasing years ago. We lifted the sled into a back of a Jeep Wrangler (back seat down) and it fit perfect along with our gear. The high sides kept the deer contained inside the sled and the vehicle nice and clean while we headed home. Obviously this sled would work great hauling ice fishing gear, logs out of the woods or dragging your kid around the yard too. great sled that exceeded my expectations. ... show more
