This toy is a good mindless activity for when you need something to keep your hands busy. As fidget toys go, it has the advantage of not making noise, but the disadvantage of being conspicuously large. (I’ve included a photo of it with a pencil for scale.) You probably won’t be able to smuggle it into a meeting and hide the fact that you’re playing with it under the table. Playing with it under the table doesn’t work well anyway, because the silicone board is floppy and difficult to balance on your lap unless you leave it in the case. It’s much easier to play with on a table. As for the “noodles” or whatever you call them, they’re strong and flexible, easy to bend around corners, and don’t feel sticky. Since they stretch a little, they will probably break if you pull on them too hard. I wouldn’t recommend giving them to a child who likes to aggressively stretch things. Also, I tried using the noodles to make some simple pictures on the board, like a flower and a rainbow, but it’s difficult because the noodles are invariably either too long or too short. Some children may get frustrated with them. One other nitpick I have about this toy is that the blue noodles are exactly the same color as the board, so they’re hard to see when you put them on the board. (There's a blue noodle in my photo, between the green and pink ones, but did you see it before I pointed it out?) Some people may like making the blue noodles sort of disappear into the board, but personally, I wish all the noodles were contrasting colors. So, should you buy this toy? It’s fun to run your fingers over the different textures on each side of the board, and fun to push the noodles in and pull them out, but keep in mind that it’s large, not something you can carry in a pocket, and that a determined child could destroy it pretty easily. Also, it has a lot of pieces to potentially get lost. I enjoyed it as a novelty, but on the whole, I prefer fidget toys to be smaller and all one piece, so I probably wouldn’t buy another one.

I wasn’t sure how this would go over with the kids but our three year old grandchild loves this. Her older brother and sister love it too. We keep it on a shelf with other games and this is the first thing she goes for. She sits quietly and makes different designs with the strings. The pieces are easy for little hands to press into the board, and they hold in place yet come out easily when she’s ready to move them. The board and strings are both very durable and the case they come in is great for storage, and a great size for packing for a car trip. This is definitely a great product!

My kids absolutely love this sensory board, and honestly, I’ve caught myself playing with it too instead of putting it away. I got this for myself to play with and quite enjoy it. It's fun to play with even just a single noodle without the board itself. I love that it comes in a snap case perfectly sized to hold the board and all the noodles. I got another one before this that didn't come with a case, and the colors were not as fun as this one, so I prefer this one.
