  • Attention!! XLR-3 cable
Style: HMD 300 PRO-XQ-2
first, Comfort is good, but case the insulation the pads of the headphone are leather it's high quality don't understand me wrong, but with a couple of hours of use it starts to heat, and your ears will sweat. second, for the HMD 300 (PRO-XQ-2), it comes with only one cable 1/4 ”jack plug for audio and XLR-3 port in one cable, so if your amp has only a 1/4 jack the mic will not work with you. Third, sound in my humble opinion these headsets are for making music not enjoying the music if you are just a user want to have fun with your playlist these are not for you but if you want to make music I think go for it. it has a flat bass and sharp sound and you could hear the details in the background. I hope this review will help someone out there, and I requested a refund and Bought the (DT 770 pro) they are more simple user-friendly. ... show more

  • Excellent headphones, not so versatile microphone
Style: HMD 300 PRO-XQ-2
As described in other reviews, multiple characteristics set HMD 300 PRO-XQ-2 apart: high level of passive noise attenuation, very even frequency response, low level of distortions, excellent long-term comfort, and meaningful protection from excessive loudness. Please be aware that the microphone is tuned for picking up regular speech in noisy environments. You'd need to keep it very close to mouth, and amplify by up to 60 dB at that. It also distorts quite a bit. Basically, it is a call-center-grade microphone rather than a studio or even a teleconference one. Unlike many professional dynamic microphones, this one doesn't ignore phantom power, so it is not useful while mixed with condenser microphones on consoles with global phantom power. It appears that some corners have been cut. Would appreciate a more studio-oriented design approach. ... show more

  • Very good for teleconferencing
Style: HMD 300 PRO-XQ-2
I love Sennheiser headphones. I have several pairs, including the 280 monitoring headphones. I would say the 300's are a good update to the 280's. I think the sound is similar, and the replaceable cord seems better. The microphone produces good output an normal speaking levels and doesn't pick up too much background. I have mine plugged in to a Focusrite Scarlett Solo USB interface, which seems to be the ideal way to connect these 'phones to a computer system. The full ear-cups are comfortable even with glasses and a mask, for hours at a time. If you want full-ear closed headphones with a microphone, I think these are hard to beat. ... show more

  • Great quality headset
Style: HMD 300 PRO-XQ-2
I had been researching headsets for my student broadcast organization. I decided to go with the HMD 300 Pro for a few reasons. I have always liked the Sennheiser brand for their quality equipment. I was extremely happy with the improvements that have been made over the HMD 280. The active noise cancelation works great in a crowded basketball arena. The microphone delivers crystal clear sound without the "tin can" sound you get with other broadcast headsets. What really set it over the top for me is that the ear and head band pads can be replaced if they get worn out. In my opinion, this is a great middle price range headset for sportscasting and I would recommend it to anyone looking to buy their first headset. ... show more

  • Seems to work but super low volume for mic
Style: HMD 300 PRO-XQ-2
First off, I am a professional sound person. I was going to use this with my Apollo Twin interface, which for people who know gear, know this is not a consumer device :-). The same input and settings I have to use most other mics barely registered an input. Even when I put it at 3 o'clock in the virtual settings, I had very weak signal and of course the noise floor started to really creep in at this level. Headphones were not really all that good either when I played some music in them. Bit of speculation here, but considering Sennheisers reputation and the reviews for this unit, I was wondering if these are knockoffs but the seller is Sennehiser. If I plug a trusty 835 in the same input, works as expected....these were pitiful. So back they went. Wanted to like them, but just did not work well at all as either headphones or headset mic. ... show more

  • Won't disappoint..
Style: HMD 300 PRO-XQ-2
Took my time researching different headsets, I needed them for heaving gaming and editing. In the end I went with these. I was not disappointed. It is best to run these off a Dac/Amp combo. But there are plenty to choose from. I was a little concerned/confused that they come in just a brown box but the build quality is great. 10/10 ... show more

  • Great headphones with clear sound
Style: HMD 300 PRO-XQ-2
I'm very impressed with sound quality. Unlike most headphones I've tried before ($100-150 range), sound is very clear and neutral. Very comfortable with a huge adjustment range. Microphone is great, but it might need amplification. I have Xonar sound card in my PC and with it's mic gain set to maximum, I believe it's still a bit lacking in volume, but said that, quality of it is impeccable ... show more
