This can be built without the Lipton the back of the shelf, but we kept ours on. Install was easy, just make sure to follow the orientation of the shelves, everything was labeled so assembly went smooth. Make sure not to tighten too much as the metal will start to recess in. I think this is a beautiful set. It is easy to put together and really organizes the space. The only issue is the desk part is way to small. You put a computer on it and you have no other space. I would have liked a slightly larger desk in length from the wall out.

This is a great bookshelf. The only thing is it’s a little wobbly. I’ve since anchored it to the wall, but when there’s about 400lbs worth of books and it wobbles when brushed against, it’s s bit frightening
