  • Very technical
More than most of us want or need to know about screwcutting on the lathe. Covers change gear selection in depth (will leave your head spinning). Detail descriptions of cutting imperial threads on a metric leadscrew lathe and vice versa. Explains thread dials. Includes using thread wires to measure the resulting threads. ... show more

My only childish complaint would be that it needs more drawings.

  • Save your money and get a Machinery Handbook.
The book has no 'advice' and consist of a lot of 'tables of estimates' fairly informative but not instructive ... at all.

  • Waste of money
Alot of the reviews said it was complicated, no big deal. But this has nothing but formulas and how to set up lathe. Has not the first dimensional chart for threads in it. I bought it for just the thread dimensions because i didnt wanna spend 100 bucks on machinery handbook. I shoukd have saved my money. ... show more

  • Authors approach seems to show how intelligent he is and not what could be helpful to a novice
I have owned a 14” Prentice for 40 something years. I have used taps and dies for threading. For a hobbyist this book was no help at all because it is way over anything a beginning threading guide should be. It is in my trash can!!! Total waste of my money 😬
