The sponge/scrubbers last longer than any others I have ever tried. I am however weird about using sponges, they typically gross me out, but I got a hanger for this so it can drain and dry out. My Old, years, Schotch-Bright dishwand began leaking. Ordered what appeared to be an exact replacement. Instead of having the cone shaped cap it has a flat bottom, awkwardly shaped cap. The newer cap was difficult to remove and reinstall, kind of made me angry. Then I realized that I could stand this wand near the edge of the sink where it could drain. With the older one I kept a jar at the sink edge and placed the wand in that for draining. ... show more

these are great for scrubbing stuck on foods (eggs are the bane of my existence) but don't store it as shown as it will leak dish soap all over the place. it doesn't seal well if at all. but for cleaning they are fine.
