Current late 2025. Bought my first one in early 2021. Bought another in late 2022 to side match with the first. I'll be buying a third here before too long to build out a triple-screen racing simulator. I've played games from ARMA to Battlefield, into American Trucking Simulator and down to Minecraft coupled with my AMD 5700XT graphics card. While I'm not pushing record frames the monitors always look plenty good and I've never felt outmatched by friends with much more expensive set-ups. I only just realized I have been playing on a default 60hz refresh so I'm excited to see what 144hz looks like on games. I never cared for the sound quality from the built in speakers. My older monitor sounds muffled, and the newer one is super 'tinny' sounding, but I have used them in a pinch to play some music while cleaning around the desk. Just for some noise really, not to impress anyone. I do not know how adjustable the sound quality is, I assume there are adjustments to made for bass/treble but have always defaulted to external speaker/headset when I had them. I've never abused my monitors, but I did have my third screen fall off its mount once and one of these took the impact at the top center of screen. I had a 'ghost strip' down the center of the impacted screen for a while but it worked itself out and can't tell beyond a VERY slight discoloration at the point of impact. Company extended my WFH schedule so I’ll have to spend several weeks more working remotely, and figured it is really time to get an extra monitor for my work laptop extended screen and hopefully for my gaming PC upgrade as well. I was particularly looking for a 4K/QHD monitor since I do a lot of Excels so I gain more cells with higher resolution. However I was told by my roommate that for 27” screen size, going above 1080p doesn’t make much of a difference. Well guess she’s right, here I am, for the same price range of a regular 27” QHD 60hz monitor, with a Sceptre 1080p 27” 165hz gaming monitor 1. My roommate is definitely right, for 27” a 1080p monitor is way enough for the clarity and sharpness. Her 27” 4K monitor does show more contents but all letters and characters are just too small in return 2. A DisplayPort cable is included instead of a regular HDMI one. Nice now I can connect it with my work laptop via HDMI and my gaming PC via DP, one button switch to work and one more button to games, with no more plugging and unplugging 3. The screen itself is very impressive in the slim bezel chasis, no dead pixels or so, native 165hz, fast response time 1ms, rich menu customization and more. Basically it has everything I need to be a work/play 2-in-1, even in Excel/Outlook where most of the pure white color background is used, the screen displays the true colors needed. The only thing is you get 144hz only with HDMI, so make sure DP is used if you want to maximize the refresh rate 4. Monitor comes with AMD FreeSync Premium certified, seems to be an upgraded standard of AMD FreeSync. Wish it could do HDR as well, will find out 5. Monitor also comes equipped with speakers built-in, pretty amazing. I’ll say for gaming, stick to your over-the-ear headphones and for working where you might to be focus with some environment noise, speaker output might be something you need in certain scenarios so speakers are definitely a plus Overall this is a very nice gaming monitor, even for me half work and half gaming.     • Fantastic for moderate Gamers
I've had this monitor now for a few months and it has worked great with zero issues with pixels, connections, etc. Offers smooth and clear picture both within and outside of games. I'm don't play all that really intense action games that are FPS or whatever. Really, the most intensive games would be things like No Man's Sky, Homeworld 3, or Civ VI. The only issues I had was that the DP cord the monitor came with seems to have been DoA but a cheap replacement one had it instantly work. The in-built speakers are also pretty terrible but you can get a cheap 20 dollar set of speakers that would be a big improvement. But these are small things that don't take away from the reason you have it in the first place. A good, solid, decent size screen that will work for everyday work or can be paired well with a second monitor. ... show more

    • Don't expect a tv. It is a decent monitor
It looks nice. My only gripe is its sound quality and volume. I was expecting television quality. Its about 20% i have it maxed out and can barely hear it 5 feet away. The auxiliary output is weak too. I knocked it down to 4 stars because it has bad quality speakers but it is a monitor and not a tv.     • Excellent Monitor for the price
An excellent budget gaming monitor due to the current GPU shortage and the insane prices I'm stuck with a GTX 1080 for the foreseeable future, as a result I didn't want to go beyond a1080P Monitor, but wanted to replace my old 24" 75 Hertz panel in my dual monitor setup which died with something that had a bit more oomf. Installation was extremely simple no need to even open the manual which came with the panel, it also came with a Phillip's head screw driver to install the four screws which I considered to be a nice little touch. One caveat the monitor comes with a Display Port cable and no HDMI cable, this wasn't a problem for me because it was always my intention to install it via DP and I have a plethora of HDMI cables lying around but those seeking to utilize this through HDMI should be aware. This Panel itself exceeded my expectations, the picture quality is great, colors pop without being too over saturated or washed out, for best results I recommend fine tuning the settings, but you have the option to use one of the suggested presets, This is also my first free sync panel which works with Nvidia's Gsync software after enabling the option in the Monitor's options menu which allows for very smooth gameplay. Speaking of the Options Menu, the buttons to open and navigate it are located behind the monitor on the right hand side, it's a little fiddly because facing the front of the monitor you have no indicators or labels for the buttons and it will take some getting used to in order to navigate the settings. The monitor also has no vertical adjustment and can only be angled up or down which is to be expected for a budget monitor and is hardly worth complaining about. Extremely pleased. I've owned more expensive monitors in the past, but never thought much of higher framerates. Guess what? I was wrong! Long time gamer (first was a Magnavox Odyssey in the 70's before the Atari 2600) and WOW, my gaming went through the roof in terms of FPS based games like Insurgency Sandstorm and Hell Let Loose. Whereas I was at the top of the leaderboards before, this made my response time amazingly faster (making me feel younger too, lol). Seriously, less eye fatigue (I can go 24 hours looking at a screen) and use it for editing photos too which right out of the box is VERY calibrated. I also put a bias light behind my monitor (you should too) as it makes the blacks darker, colors more vivid, and eliminates eye strain at night or when the monitor shifts from light to dark, like with movies or gaming. I got this one on sale so it was a NO BRAINER! Previous purchase was the 25" version which I wound up giving to my son for college as it fit his small desk space in his first year dorm. One hot pixel almost center screen, stuck on green. doesn't bother me 80% of the time, even while editing. I tried various fixes but haven't used the monitor enough to care really (I use it a lot, just not in the capacity that it affects me as other monitor issues have like the dead ant that got stuck behind my laptop screen and looks like a large dust flake, lol). The 25" had NO pixel issues. Quality on Sceptre monitors has been SUPERB. The supplied DP cable is quality and immediately allows me to sync up to 165Hz automatically. Monitor was discovered each and every time by my Win 10 and NVidia card set-up. I have the Freesync setting on and don't know if it makes a difference, and also some kind of sharpening enhancement as I will say, the 25" was definitely different in the way Hell Let Loose looked, right out of the box. This looked... softer(?) and not as crisp, until I turned on these two settings and then, BAM!, perfect!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PURCHASING THIS MONITOR! ... show more

    • Awful, avoid buying
Genuinely one of the worst purchases I've ever made. This monitor is terrible. The monitor I received had consistent issues with displaying anything at its native refresh rate, and would randomly stop showing colours. It got to the point that no matter what refresh rate or display settings I chose, the screen would display everything as a brick of green scan lines. It didn't matter if I changed the display cable, port, power supply, graphics card, or even the PC/Laptop it was connected to, it would still stop displaying colours. When it DID display anything on the screen, all of the colour was extremely washed out and faded, regardless of what settings I selected. From the second day I owned this monitor I viewed it as nothing more than an expensive liability and looked for a replacement as soon as possible. The monitor itself also looks and feels incredibly cheap compared to other options at its price point. Do not touch this monitor, I would honestly say just avoid this brand all together, nothing about the product I received tells me that it is worth more than $50. ... show more

Been using this monitor since roughly late November. I don’t know how I got a version of the monitor that has pretty much the exact same specs other than I have 180hz instead of 165hz. The speakers sound so bad, no bass, very mild highs, and the mids are muted heavily. Color accuracy looks pretty good, again I’ve never tried an IPS panel before but it’s really good for how much I payed for it ($110). Response time is fine nothing to complain. On consoles you can play at 120hz using a standard HDMI cable. The monitor arm for this thing is trash to setup, I had to screw it in and sometimes the screws would fall out and the arm would give out, I would recommend a monitor arm. Overall I wouldn’t mind paying for the 165hz version for around 150 dollars. It’s a banger monitor for that price and you’ll be getting the necessary functionality out of the monitor. I wouldn’t guarantee that you will get a 180hz version, I think someone from shipping just grabbed something that looked exactly like the real thing and wasn’t looking at the specs. ... show more
