  • Not the fastest panel, but gorgeous and affordable
The media could not be loaded. I've looked pretty good for a solid 1080p monitor that was comparable to my 27gl850, as my RTX a2000 doesn't handle 1440p that well. The 27gl was a near perfect QLED monster but was hard to drive. After trying 5+ 1080p monitors, I end my search here. The colors are vibrant (with saturation/vibrance turned up in the monitor's settings), it's got very little if any color banding, and a big and bright display. The 165hz is snappy and smooth, the 27" size is just right for me, and the adjustability built into the display settings itself is fantastic. It doesn't match LG's level of UI polish but options are options. I don't find the 1080p resolution a problem at 27", but some definitely could. I'd rather have the framerate in games over the mild bump to clarity. It's obviously not perfect though. Out of the box the output dynamic range defaulted to limited, which you always want at full. After changing it to full it looked much better. Turning saturation up did improve the vibrance which is something I value even if it's unrealistic. Colors are average or above average in my estimate, I'm very happy. While the selection of display settings built into the monitor are great, the physical buttons aren't. They're not bad but LG's single joystick button with shortcuts to brightness is way better. I'd love a faster shortcut to adjust brightness, but it's not that hard to get to. The pixel response time doesn't seem to be exceptional, but that's normal with most mid range IPS panels. The Ultragear definitely spoiled me there, but any lag or ghosting is extremely slight and barely noticeable. You can kind of see it in the door of the video attached (which was shot in slow motion). My biggest complaint is the lack of a glossy display option and the fact the panel isn't 10-bit. Hard to be unhappy though. Highly recommend if you want a good 1080p monitor and don't demand the highest resolution display. ... show more

  • Great deal, great monitor.
The refresh rate and response time is such a night and day difference from my old monitor. The color accuracy is excellent, and overall picture quality is better than expected. DisplayPort in is also an upgrade for me. Great looking monitor that performs well at a cheap price point.

  • Better than expected.
Picture quality seems pretty good, well packaged for shipping, mounting to wall mount or desk mount is a little weird having to use the spacers and standoffs but they were included with monitor so can’t really complain. Backlights on back of monitor could be brighter is my only real complaint.

  • Terrible product
I bought this around Christmas (so I've had it roughly 30 days) for a hundred bucks (on sale), and even with that discount, I feel like I've been had. This is a bad monitor and I implore you to move on if you're thinking about buying it. 1. It freezes. I don't think I've ever had a monitor freeze before. I run it as monitor 2 (I've been running a two-monitor setup in my home for four years, no problems), and about half the time when I turn on the system, I have to unplug and plug this monitor back in or it stays frozen in an off-screen state. To be clear, at night when I shut my pc down, I turn off the monitors (more on this in problem 3), and when I restart the next day and push this monitor's power button, nothing happens. Stays as a black screen until I unplug it for 10 seconds then plug it back. I'm thinking this will continue to get worse until one day the monitor isn't going to turn on. I'll be impressed if it lasts until next Christmas. 2. It's wobbly and poorly constructed. The instructions for assembling the stand were uniquely bad, plus this company thought, "Let's make a new kind of stand different from most other monitor stands" so you have no point of reference when trying to figure out the four steps they skipped in between the ones they gave you. The directions were in like 2 steps, and it was really hard figuring out which of the pieces went where. I finally got it, and it's so wobbly I've essentially had to lean it back against the wall so it doesn't shake WHEN I TYPE. I've look at the instructions, at how I put it together, and I've determined it's not me, it's the stand. It's far too thin and small to support the weight of the monitor. If you look up videos of this brand to see if there's a way to fix this, you can see almost all their older models had much sturdier stands and bases that would've prevented this. What they give you now was clearly a way for their company to cut more costs (as they clearly already cut plenty of costs inside the monitor). 3. The monitor's on/off light is too bright. Sometimes I'll be watching a show when I fall asleep, so I have a timer to shut down my computer. Works great. But monitors don't seem to have figured out how to power off like a TV can, and this specific monitor has a solid blue light when it's on that goes to a flashing blue light when the computer is turned off but the monitor itself is still on. That flashing blue light is so bright I can see it going on...then off...on...then off...with my eyes closed. I partly bought this monitor for its size so I could watch shows from my bed at night, and it's useless for that. I was able to fix this by putting electric tape over the bottom of the monitor where the light is. Super classy. 4. It's ugly. It may actually be 1080p, I don't know, but no amount of calibrating has made this monitor's picture look good. Especially when gaming. I've continued to use my other monitor for gaming--which is 5 years old and much crisper and cleaner looking than it. Speaking of calibrating, whenever I reach to the back of this giant monitor (where the company inexplicably put the menu keys) to try and re-calibrate, the monitor shakes and wobbles and acts like it's going to tip over, fall off the stand--any possible calamity you can imagine. This thing, one month in, feels like it's being held together by tape and bubblegum. People might say to me, "Well, I guess you get what you pay for." I paid 100 bucks for this. I didn't get what I paid for. A hundred bucks should get you SOMETHING. This thing? I'm now thinking of it as a hundred bucks I wasted on a piece of crap until I get a monitor from a reputable company that doesn't threaten to collapse on itself while it slowly stops working. Don't buy this. Please, please don't buy this. ... show more
