Description

Scars Above is a challenging sci-fi third-person action-adventure shooter combining the rewarding feel of overcoming difficulty with a compelling and intricate story, set in a mysterious alien world to explore. Some things were not meant to be discovered… A colossal and enigmatic alien structure appears in Earth's orbit and stuns the entire world; humanity names it ‘The Metahedron’. The Sentient Contact Assessment and Response team (SCAR) - consisting of scientists and engineers - is sent to investigate. Things don’t go as planned and the Metahedron hauls the team across space onto a mysterious extrasolar planet. Playing the role of Dr Kate Ward - a SCAR member - who wakes up dazed, alone in a strange, hostile environment. Determined to survive, you set out to find your crew and unravel the mystery behind what’s happened.

I never heard of this game anywhere until the AJS made a impression video on it and im glade I got it its a actually well done Sci Fi game the music is pretty good the atmosphere is great. the gameplay feels like a Souls Lite version meaning like in dark souls you have these check points called Bonfires, I played on Normal difficulty it was challenging but not the crazy difficulty compared to those games. if your into sci fi I don't see why you shouldn't buy this its not 60 or 70 bucks so that's a plus too Definitely check this one out I would give this a 8/10 ... show more

Not a bad game until the first "boss". Too hard for me even on easy. For most people it will likely be challenging but fine. If you often play on easy, skip this one.

The game has good atmosphere and interesting graphics. It allows you to create weapons and use "appropriate" ones depending on a situation. I also liked the idea that you need to find and collect ingredients to make your own ammo and health potions. UNFORTUNATELY.... The game heavily employs the combat, and the combat is weak and frustrating. The weapons you are given are either slow or need 2 seconds to charge to make just one shot. Unfortunately, many big and lethal enemies don't want to wait for 2 seconds and hit you with all they got while you are charging your weapon. I am not even talking about enemies that are almost completely invincible with exception of just one "weak spot" that they show for LESS than two seconds, leaving you almost no time to do your "charging" right before they crush you to death over and over and over. Shame. The game clearly had a great potential, which was spoiled by the crappy combat mechanics. ... show more

Definitely a better game than I thought it would be. Plays very nicely, graphics are pretty good and gameplay mechanics are near AAA. Enjoyed this game thoroughly.

I knew it was likely to be fairly simple, but not this primitive. They might as well have called it, JUST PRESS A..It is also one of those games were you have to use a clunky inventory to access things and you don't always get what you choose and even when you do there is no nuance to the fights, just slash, slash slash or shoot, shoot shoot...Aiming is optional except for the things you need to open..You waste a lot of time opening things that should require one click so you can get on with the game...But then you realize, that is the game. I am not a programmer but I would bet with a free afternoon I could have written the code for this product. Not recommended for teens or adults. ... show more
