Though I am originally from Germany I never owned a dirndl so I thought it would be fun to get one for our local Oktoberfest a couple of weekends ago. I was surprised to find quite a few here on Amazon and after comparing some I decided on this one from Scarlet Darkness. I liked the color combination with its nod to the colors of the German flag and the fact that they weren't so girlie girl, and of course the price couldn't be beat. The price, however, was also why I didn't expect all that much from the dress, thought of it more as a costume to wear once. So I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived and the quality was great. The fabric is good quality and the craftsmanship impeccable. It fit and looked just as described and I couldn't be happier with this purchase! For comparison, the gal standing next to me in the photo is wearing an authentic, much more expensive dirndl from Germany... I think mine can hold up to it just fine.

This dress was for a girls night out. It is really well made and worth every penny. I will say it runs small and doesn’t quite match the sizing on the chart.

I ordered both an XL and a L, based on the sizing chart. I am 5'3" and weigh 144lbs. Because my waist measures 35" I thought I would need the XL, even though I wear a size 10 jean and medium t-shirts. The XL was way too big and the Large fits well. I really think I could have worn the medium but don't have time to order another. The lacing in the front will allow for adjusting the tightness. The dress is very nice and heavier weight than I thought it would be. It is a good value for the price and much better quality than a different brand I ordered. The top portion of the dress is lined. I can't wait to wear it to the German Festival in our town. It looks great!

It is beautiful. Looks great on, but does run on the small side. I weigh about 128, chest size 37, and I though a medium would be fine. I can wear it, but it is tight for sure.

This costume is cute and it seems to be well made, but it was comically small. I wear a size 18 and I ordered a 2x. There were at least 6 inches in the back where the zipper couldn’t connect. It was SO small. My daughter tried it on and it fit her perfectly. She’s a size 7.

Thanks to covid and work stress, my dirndl size skyrocketed from a small to an xl. Not my proudest moment, but I still needed something to wear for our annual Oktoberfest party. I purchased this, hoping that it would fit my newly corpulent body, and to my delight, it did. Granted, I swapped out the shirt for something that covered my arms a bit more [this shirt in xl worked PERFECTLY with the outfit (CNJFJ Women's Sexy Frill Smock Crop Top Retro Square Neck Long Sleeve Shirred Blouse Tops): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07S21JRM5?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title]. At 5'1, it came down to just below my knees, which was perfect, and there was enough room that I was able to cinch it a bit tighter. I felt covered, but comfortable and festive.
