The bodice is well made and certainly matched the color I ordered it in (coffee)! The only comment I would make is that it is certainly shorter than what is portrayed in the photos. I am 260lbs, 5'6", 40DD. This size is fine for a casual renaissance fair costume I'm making. A little on the tight side, but I will be wearing shapewear under everything. If you're looking for a garment with strong support? This ain't it. It's perfectly fine as a top layer / accessory, but it is just a cloth vest. If you want something that does NOT require a bra, or something to accommodate a larger belly, find something with "stainless steel boning", like a corset or a set of stays. I got this with the intention of wearing with a binder, and it fit exactly how I wanted and expected it to. I didn’t want my curves to stand out, and this vest isn’t meant for accentuating curves in the first place. The material is not stiff. It is not bones or has no shaping. It is shaped to your body with laces. It will wrinkle up if it is too tight, and that looks icky. It will be ok if the bust measurement is a little small, but the waist must fit.

I purchased a medium based on my measurements, but didn't factor in the laces. I probably would've been better off doing with a small. Luckily the difference isn't too extreme, and it's good enough to still be flattering. Thin material, but good for the price!

The quality of this bodice is really nice - super sturdy material, lightweight, breathable for a hot day at a ren faire. I bought a large and it ended up being way too big for me (5'3, 155lbs, B-cups), but I'm decent at sewing so I just took it in in the back and under the arms (took it in a total of 3 inches) and then it fit perfectly. So I would say size down when ordering - you can always loosen the laces but you can only tighten them so much. Overall, would order again, but likely in a small. ... show more
