  • Do the twist!
Color: Red Size: 24 oz
What we have here is another entry into the infusion water bottle market. Most work the same way. The flavoring ingredients are put inside a small tube. The water will have to go through that tube in order to exit the bottle. The water receives the flavoring in two ways. Simply soaking the ingredients will impart flavor to the water inside the bottle. As the water is forced to pass through the tube in order to exit the bottle, the water is forced to make contact with the ingredients on the way out. In short, these bottles do a good job of flavoring the water. And this even when you take into consideration that some ingredients do not release their flavors easily. The eBook gives hints as to what you can do to help stubborn ingredients better release their flavors. Alright then. Let us get to the specifics of this particular product. What makes the Savvy Infusion Water Bottle a number one bestseller? What is it about this one product that makes it stand out from the rest? It's not that it does a better job of extracting the flavor from the ingredients. It does just as well as any other infusion bottle out there. As I said above, they all work the same way. Short of squeezing the ingredient or using hot water, they do what can reasonably be done to pull out the flavors. What makes this bottle desirable is its additional features: Leak-proof, attractive, and "insulated". The bottle is leak proof. The red cap screws on to the bottle. It is not a flip-top closure. You have to twist it off to remove it from the bottle. The product is attractively designed. It is thin enough to fit in most car cup holders and easy to hold even for those with small hands. The brand's logo is very tastefully printed on the bottle and the red cap adds interest to the aesthetics. What about the "insulated" part? The bottle appears to be made of one layer. Unlike a Thermos insulated beverage bottle, this one does not appear to have double-wall construction. I inspected the bottle carefully and see only one layer, unless the air space between the layers is very, very thin. What about condensation? One Savvy Life claims this bottle will produce less condensation. Naturally, I decided to put this to the test. My results show that it does, indeed, produce less condensation than a drinking glass when filled with the very cold water I used. This is unscientific, but the results are practical. Compared to a glass drinking ware, when filled with very cold water, this bottle produced less condensation. The drinking glass, made out of glass, left water rings on the table. This bottle did not. I have read customer complaints about the infuser being hard to pull out. My experience with this one bottle is that the infuser is firmly seated in the bottle, but it is not hard to pull out. You do not want this piece to be loose. Remember that the water must pass through the infuser in order to exit out of the bottle, for you to drink. There will be times when you will have to sharply tilt the bottle in order to get the water out and the last thing you want is for the infuser to fall out. What will happen if the infuser were to come out at such a time? Basically, you will get a very cold shower. It might be fun to take a cold shower with strawberry infused water while you're wearing your bathing suit, but not when you're at the gym! What I am saying is, the infuser needs to seat firmly to the bottle. You will have bigger complaints if it were to come out and shower you with flavored water at the gym, while you're on the treadmill. It is tight for a good reason. One design advice that I can give is to perhaps mold some serrations or notches on the pull tab of the infuser so that even slippery fingers will be able to get a secure grip on the tab to pull the infuser out. This product is made from Tritan. I have two Nalgene bottles made from the same material. How strong is Tritan? Let's say you work for the bomb disposal unit of the police department. You like to sip from your infusion bottle while defusing bombs. Bad luck hits you and you have a bad day on the job. Okay, it won't be an open casket funeral but you can pass this life knowing that your family can continue to enjoy your Savvy bottle after you're gone. The red plastic cap is a twist-on, twist-off affair. This is a bottle that you can put in your gym bag and be confident that you won't find soggy clothes after your workout. The seal on this Savvy bottle is tight and secure. So if you want leak-proof, then do the twist! I understand this is One Savvy Life's first product. And it is a very good one. Customer service is very good. The product is a hot seller here on Amazon. Is the product perfect? No, it is not. The purchase price is a little steep for what you get. What useful feature can you add to an infusion bottle? Perhaps the bottle should have a removable neoprene sleeve. The bottle could be a little bit taller, for higher capacity. But, the most important feature to consider would not cost anything at all. And that is to mold some notches on the pull tab of the plastic infuser to make it easier to remove from the bottle. Actually, to make this bottle even better and for it to justify the premium price, the infuser should screw into the bottle, rather than a simple fit that relies on friction. Highly recommended, but a bit pricey compared to other products of this type. ... show more

  • I am VERY happy with my purchase
Color: Red Size: 24 oz
I am VERY happy with my purchase. I am averaging 3 more glasses of water a day thanks to my Savvy Infuser :) My favorite combo is peaches and oranges - like drinking a fuzzy navel! Although peaches and blueberries with a hint of mint is a close second. I had a problem at first because I only need about 1/8 of the peach to fit in the infuser capsule, and then what do I do with the rest of the peach? I don't necessarily want to eat it (I "pack" my bottle at night before bed and let it "steep" overnight for lots of flavor!)...but I don't want to waste it, either. I tried chopping it up, putting it in a bag, and tossing it in the freezer. But the next day, all I had was a giant lump of peach pieces, none of which wanted to detach to go in the bottle. So...I got a small ice cube tray and put the peach chunks in the tray, 1-2 chunks per "cube" and put THAT in the freezer. Voila! Perfect frozen peach cubes that can THEN go in a bag and stay separated. The oranges (or clementines) I section, then use a knife to split the outside of the section. These go in a bag in the fridge. When I'm "packing" my infuser, I take 2-3 sections of orange, and using the split, I turn the section of orange inside out, so all the juicy pips are on the outside and in contact with the water. Yum! This was one of my Prime Day purchases and I've used it every day since. It's come with me to a conference, traveled in my computer bag, been tipped over, dropped, etc. and it has never leaked or spilled (as long as the top is on!). The ONLY complaint, if I have one, is that you DO have to be a little careful how you drink from it. There are a series of holes in a circle around the top of the infuser pod about 1/4 inch in length and about 1/16 inch in height, with a thin plastic section between each hole. What I've found is that if I have one of the holes directly in front of my mouth, I get spillage out of the sides of my mouth (not graceful in public). I'm used to bottles I have to tip up sharply and/or squeeze to drink from them and this one doesn't require it, so part of the secret is to sip and tilt slowly, like you'd drink out of a regular glass (it just requires a little muscle memory training), and if I put one of the small plastic sections in front of my mouth and lift the bottle slowly, it pours well and doesn't make me dribble :) I also have to give a shout-out to the fabulous customer service folks - they checked in on me after I bought it, and have corresponded with me a couple other times (real people, not customer service 'bots). They also surprised me by sending me a second bottle as a thank-you for buying the first one (thanks, Karen!). Great product, great people to buy from. Your body will thank you! ... show more

  • No more boring water to drink
Color: Red Size: 24 oz
One thing that I need to do a lot better with is drinking water. I am one of those people that do like plain water. The powder packets you can buy that flavor the water, does not dissolve all the way and leaves residue on the bottle. This is one way to get the flavor that I like the natural way with no powder or preservatives. I was so glad I was chosen to test this product in discount for giving my honest unbiased opinion. Now on to how to use the product. You take the small container in the middle with holes and pop the top off. Then you can add any type of fruits or veggies you like. I added strawberries and peaches because that is what I had at home. The combinations of flavors are infinite. Place the container back in the water bottle and fill with water. It took a few minutes for the water and fruit to mix but once it does it tasted very good. I also love that the top goes on with a great seal for easy travel. Cleaning is very easy. Throw all of the fruit away that is still in the container, place in warm soapy water. I ran water through a few times just to make sure I got all of the left over fruit out of the holes. Clean the main bottle as normal. I love that it is a reusable bottle that uses natural fruits and veggies that I chose to use and not all the chemicals that come in the other powder brands. The one thing I would say could be added to make it an even better water bottle is a strap or holder so taking in on walks would be easier. This would make a good gift for people in your life that water drinkers and like to use natural healthy products in their water ... show more
