Slim design with great functionality and looks to boot. Love my new desk!! I wanted something minimal but more home-looking, less office-style. This blended well in our office space at home which I share with my husband. Although minimal design, I wanted a bit of storage because I hate having a bunch of things floating around the surface. So the drawer was enough for the usual routine supplies and the deeper drawers for quick access files. The color blended in nicely with my home paint colors and my husbands new desk as well. He went with a darker color and I with the lighter one and it blended and perfectly. It is sturdy but I’m taking precautions to ensure it stays in pristine condition. So far I’ve put corner protectors and waiting on surface pads for the writing surface to prevent any spills or ink from getting on it. I can place the l-shaped facing a couple different ways without any compromise to the look of it since it’s finished well all around. This was money well spent. ... show more

Delighted with this desk. The pieces are heavy and study, and the directions and illustrations are easy to follow (even included a detail drawing that yes, one of the drawer slides does go in upside down). Because the pieces are so heavy, I think you definitely need a second person to help with the latter parts of the assembly, just for another pair of hands to steady the larger pieces. ... show more

A 2-3hr assembly. There's a huge corner of 1'x1'x3' space that is just blocked off by the desk leg panels making it kind of wasted dust crawl space. The desk itself looks nice, but there are cheaper versions simpler to build as big. The drawers are working well and do not slide open by gravity which was a concern of mine. Once assembled the desk is a bit mammoth to reposition and shims don't really work well to keep it leveled in my carpeted office. I put a black metal hydraulic raisable computer desk on top of it and I kind of regret not sticking with that aesthetic. Dissembling the desk will be a headache in the future because of so many pinlock connections and in not simple consistent pattern of assembly. Simple style desk costs extra for extra effort of assembly. Relatively sturdy. Drawer is a little in the way of potential workspace. Only L's one way. ... show more

I am beyond happy with this desk and very glad I took the chance on it. It was not difficult to put together and since I managed to put it together by myself without any assistance whatsoever, I can verify that the directions were well written and easy to follow along with. The key of course is (1) read the directions (2) follow them precisely and (3) take the time to sort your parts out in the order they are needed before starting the project. The desk itself is clean, neat, sturdy and attractive. It houses both my stand monitors, my laptop, my scanner/printer and at times my two cats who consider this just more space for them to claim. There is more than enough room on the desk left to work for those tasks that are not done on my computer. The file drawer and the small storage drawer are both sturdy and operate smoothly. If you're like me and have searched both online and off for a quality desk that doesn't break the bank, I give this one my total stamp of approval. ... show more

What a job to assemble this! Phew! It took my husband and I around 6 hours. If you don’t have patience or someone to help you, pass on this. I believe there are about 23 steps in the assembly and the top drawer was especially problematic to slide onto the track. The outer cover for the file drawer is secured by only one screw and it sometimes jiggles which is annoying. Other than that the one other con for me was putting on the desk top. It was so hard to line up the screws and holes I wanted to toss the darn thing. HOWEVER once you get through the pain of assembly it is beautiful and spacious. It is also sturdy (except for the jiggly file drawer). I’ve been WFH since onset of Covid and I wanted to create the same work atmosphere I’m used to while in the office. I really love the desk and bought the matching cabinet afterwards which I use to house my mini fridge. My job will have a hard time getting me back to the office. ... show more

    • 5-hour assembly / gaps / too steep for the value!

Listen to the reviews when they said it takes on average 5-hours --- it really does! There are MANY parts! If you don't have the time, it may be worth looking at the assembly service. Also, similar to another customer's issue, we had a couple of bent hidden cams that my husband had to "fix" with a plier, otherwise, we wouldn't have been able to finish putting it together. In summary: CONS: - tedious assembly with many parts - HEAVY box (need 2 people to carry it) - gap in between desktop where it connects - no extra hardware (be careful to not lose any) PROS: - nice, neutral color - sturdy - compact frame for smaller offices *I would recommend it if the cons do not bother you. Otherwise, I'd probably shop around before purchasing. $340+ is too steep, in my opinion, for this desk. ... show more
