First, here’s what I like about these cabinets: They’re super easy to assemble. Well, that is compared to some products like this that I’ve assembled. The parts were clearly labeled, and the instructions were complete and easy to understand (and in English). No boo-boos on the first one – I ordered two of them – and the second one went together even more quickly. They look nice. The molding trim on the doors gives them more of a custom look than your average white, assembled, particle board cabinet. The handles are a brushed-chrome finish and the hinges are heavy duty as well. It was well packaged. Both boxes arrived undamaged and the contents were in perfect condition. Now, their shortcomings: Every piece of Sauder Furniture I’ve ever assembled (and that’s a bunch of ‘em) has been made of ¾ inch particle board. This one is NOT, it’s much thinner! It’s more like 3/8 inch. Really. Some pieces bend when you push on them. That is both good and bad. It makes the cabinet not so heavy to handle and assemble (two people can easily lift it, or maybe one strong person). But it’s NOT HEAVY DUTY. That’s clearly stated in the description, if you read it carefully. They say the weight limit for the upper shelves in 25 lbs and the bottom shelf 50 lbs. I would not, under any circumstances, put that much weight on every shelf because I'd be afraid of sagging. Maybe half that, but then I’m careful. I knew this and I need it for storing lightweight items, so it suited my purposes. But don’t go thinking that you’re going to stock this baby with gallons of paint. Please. So, for me it worked fine. It has a strap you can screw the top to the wall with, and I recommend that you use it, because it could tip over. I will keep you updated if it fails to hold up in the long run. As a Prime member, I buy a LOT of stuff from amazon. Living out in a rural area far from a city, amazon is my go-to source for many of my purchases. I must rely heavily on your product reviews to help me decide which item is best for me -- especially when I can't actually see, touch or hold the product. I take my personal product reviews seriously, and if something proves to be a piece of junk, I'll tell you - and if it's great or mediocre, I'll tell you that, too. My policy is to try to write the kind of reviews I want to read and to update my reviews if for some reason the product fails to perform as advertised during the period it's warrantied for. I got this knowing that it would have cost me at least as much to build. My diy would have been much better quality, but I really don't need another project right now. I think my expectations were realistic. Having put it together myself (a senior woman) I recommend that two people tackle this. I could have avoided that awkward moment when turning it and being afraid it would break. Pros: It looks good. The predrilled holes were accurately placed. The directions were clear and easy to follow with my woodworking experience. All pieces and hardware were there and well labeled. It fills my need. Cons: Very flimsy parts. Be careful while assembling. I used a power drill instead of the recommended screwdriver and had to be very careful not to sink the screws too far. It took three days to off gas from the glue holding the particles of wood together. For as little engineered wood as was exposed, that surprised me. Having the nose of a bloodhound isn't always a good thing! There are STICKERS to cover the screw holes. I will definitely improvise something with wood. I will update as to how well it stands up over time. Bottom line - it was what I expected, it will do what is needed, and I won't be embarrassed to have it in the public area of my house. ... show more

These are very well packaged. I ordered two, then ended up getting a third. It’s improved my storage by leaps and bounds and they look wonderful. On the third one, there was some slight cosmetic damage on one of the internal shelves, but I decided not to use it anyways as I am storing brooms and whatnot in that one. Shelves are sturdy enough to support some heavy tools, and a stand mixer. The only part that felt “flimsy” was the doors. The doors have a magnetic element at the bottom, which had a pulling effect. The doors were wobbly when using it, so I simply took it off. They stay closed swell without it. The hinges are adjustable to get the doors just the right level, but I didn’t fool with it too much. ... show more

Ordered 2, looks sooooo good, so just ordered the 3rd one! :DD - Note this is a basic cabinet. The board feels thin but if you assemble and assemble them properly, everything should be well aligned with not much efforts. Saw complains on the doors, pay attention to the TWO adjustment screws, especially the set screw while installing and you will get them perfectly aligned with an even gap. - Easy to assemble, The boards were so well organized in the package and you don't need to mess up the boards, only need to work on the boards one by one from top down until you reach the first full vertical board. All drilled holes are well aligned for both cabinets I received so far. - Packaging is good for both packages in my case. They are heavy though so be careful. - Price is great even for a basic cabinet, and with Amazon free shipping, you cannot find better deals :) - My only suggestion is there could be one more shelf, or at least more drilled holes in case one want to cut and install his/her own shelf board, which is what I'll do. ... show more

We first bought two of these for our office. They have been a great storage option. They were fairly easy to assemble and hold a lot. They're pressed board so if your looking for something high end you might want to pass. If you just want something nice and budget friendly, these are totally worth it. We ended up buying one for our bedroom to use for my craft overflow and hubby liked it so much we bought two more. So, now we have a total of 5 of these in our home and they all hold different things and work perfect for our needs while looking nice too! ... show more
