  • More presriptive upper, but plusher ride than the Guide
Size: 7.5 Wide Color: Alloy/Topaz
As a longtime Saucony runner, I really really like these new trainers. I’ve run extensively in every annual version of the Saucony Guide since before the Guide 8, and I think I like this one better than just about all of them. But unlike the Guide, these need a small amount of breaking in out of the box. First putting them on, the arch support is massively more prominent and noticeable than in any Guide, which is also a mild stability shoe. In fact, I almost returned them because of it. They also felt significant squishier, if more cushioned, and that was an initial concern as well. But I gave these a day of walking and standing around to break them in, and I am so glad I did. After that, the arch support really settled down and the entire insole molded to and cradled my feet. I have moderately low arches but not flat feet, and appreciate a small bit of pronation control. Strangely, despite the initially too-strong arch support, these shoes ride more like a neutral shoe than the Guides. It’s also significantly more of a plush ride, well cushioned while still being responsive enough for interval training. In the Guides, my feet would get tired after a 3-4 mile run and barbell squats afterwards. But these shoes are much more plush and cushioned while still offering sufficient support. I really notice and appreciate the softer ride of these after a long workout. The offset is the usual 8mm for many Saucony running shoes. Much has been said about the snug, confining uppers, and it’s true that the Tempus has a much less padded, much more prescriptive fit than any Guide model. The Guides had much more well padded tongues, as well as a looser, lower cut heel and ankle collar. The Tempus, along with that higher arches, really locks the foot into the shoe, and is a much snugger, higher-around-the-ankle cut. So if you have ankles that are wider between the Achilles and forefoot, you will possibly find these too confining. These maintain a light weight despite the generous midsole stack by using a thinner, lightweight mesh reinforced by thin, lightweight exoskeleton type plastic trim. So there is much less padding around the ankle collar, which comes up higher on the ankle. The heel counter is firm, and the heel tab also comes up much higher on the Achilles than any Guide I’ve ever worn. The upper mesh material itself is not stretchy at all, adding to the more confining feel than the usually stretchier upper (past versions have really varied) of the Guides. Overall, the Tempus is a good cushioned trainer with very moderate stability feel and is lightweight and responsive, especially given the stack height. But it does require at least a day of break-in to really know what you’re getting. And it’s probably not for those who like the freedom and roomy upper space around the lower cut ankle collar that you get with the Guide. But it’s significantly more softly cushioned under foot than the Guide while still offering enough support for faster, shorter runs. Great shoe, I bought two pairs. ... show more

  • Fast, lightweight run boosters
I found these running shoes to be excellent for dropping time off my splits. They have a nice boost that really makes you want to run fast, and they also excel at providing stability without feeling heavy at all. I have suffered various leg and hip problems as a runner, but these have been a treat to run in. ... show more

  • Good shoes
Size: 12.5 Color: Night Lite
At first I did not like these, but after running dozens of miles they grew on me. They are very light weight and I was able to train and complete a half marathon in them without any major issues. They do seem a little slippery on wet surfaces compared to other shoes I have. I did not slip but I could tell the grip was different. I was able to set several PRs for my segments in these shoes. They seem to run about a 1/4 size larger than other Saucony shoes in my closet. ... show more

  • Do it all stability shoe
Size: 9 Color: White/Vizi Orange
The Saucony Tempus is a good all around stability shoe. I have 200 miles in on mine and run about 10 to 30 miles a week. Pros: They dont take long to break in, if at all. They have decent stability, and help with pronation to keep ankles from collapsing in. They are light enough to use for speed work and racing but have enough cushion for daily training and long runs. They are very durable, 200 miles in and they aren't showing much wear. They also breathe well and aren't overly expensive. Cons: The toe box is a little narrower than I'd like and can cause blisters on longer runs (over 10 miles and I have to tape my toes to keep them from rubbing blisters). The tread is not very aggressive and doesn't grip well on wet pavement. There is a plastic piece in the heel that is supposed to cup your foot and help keep it in place, that piece can be a little sharp and scape your heel if your not wearing thick enough socks. I have attached pictures of the shoes I took while writing this. The only real blemish you can see after 200 miles is rubbing on cushion on the outside of the toe box. All in all I like them, I'd give them 4.5 stars if I could. ... show more

  • Feeels good
Size: 9.5 Color: Black/Fog
You will feel the difference immediately. As someone who has always worn cheaper shoes for looks, this was very refreshing. I have flat feet, hurts running over extended periods. These fix that. Instantly felt difference when I put them on and walked around

  • Pretty firm
Fit was fine, but cushion was less than I was expecting and I returned the shoe. Less cushion than Endorphin Shift and less cushion than Hoka Gaviota. These seem to get good reviews, so maybe just not a good for me.

  • Foot pain gone
I purchased this shoe because it had a high rating for overpronation. I suffer from overpronation, morten's neuroma, ankle arthritis and have had multiple foot surgeries. I recently tried a new podiatrist who recommended Saucony and ordering new orthotics. I always order men's sport shoes for the wide toe box. From the moment that I put this shoe on I felt a huge difference. Mortens neuroma causes an intense burning sensation and feels like your walking on a balled up sock, that pain was GONE! Shopping with my granddaughter 9 hours and I came home pain free! The arch support is outstanding! I have to say I have ordered other Sauconys in the past but not one for overpronation. Read manufactures recommendations! This one is perfect for me. The material on top is thin, breathable and as described not waterproof. The sole is cushioned well however I did lose a pea size chunk from the inside heal area while biking, I am hoping that is a fluke. I highly recommend Saucony Tempus, I love it! ... show more

  • I love these shoes.
Size: 12 Color: Concrete/Indigo
These shoes are very light weight and comfortable. I had to size up a half a size because my feet tend to swell easily when I am running. Great rebound from the midsole and they allow my feet to breathe. I’d recommend them.
