So i was an idiot and bought Hokas because they felt amazing in the store. even just 20 miles later, i was really regretting the Hokas. I watched a LOT of youtube videos to choose these Saucony Kinvaras. These are my daily treadmill shoes. I want to keep them treadmill shoes and I think i want to get another pair for pavement running. Either way, I really like how these ride. The fit is fantastic. NO slip and the support is there. these shoes have made me way more aware of gate and heel striking etc. these feel like much better shoes to actually become a runner in than the Hokas. Hokas feel like clouds and then they feel like balls of dough under your feet until they just kind of become mudd and the support is almost entirely gone. These Kinvaras do not do that. They make you more aware of your running, you become a better runner, the spring you get back keeps you really sharp with your strides, and the overall running experience is significantly more rewarding. you might have a rough starting week if youre running on clouds right now. but this is the way. they are so light and tactile feeling. Really good running shoe for $60. Very light and very comfortable. I have purchased many running shoes over the year( Asic Nimbus, brooks, Nike) and it would cost $140 for a comparable running shoe. I would consider this a race day shoe, that good.

    • Much narrower than previous versions of the Kinvara
I've run in many iterations of the Kinvara, and the big takeaway here is that this shoe is much narrower than previous versions. I have gone through probably 6 pair of 12-13s and those fit comfortably in standard width. Foot girth is a concern for me, and I wear my running shoes very loose. I've found I'm prone to stress fractures and general discomfort with tight running shoes, particularly near the beginning of the toe box, basically where the laces start. As a result, I want the laces at those first few eyes to be as loose as the shoe allows. With this shoe, fully loose is still too tight. At 10-20 runs in they are finally loosening but I've dealt with hot spots on the top of my foot and discomfort with each run. The upper is also firmer than prior Kinvaras so there is less give. My advice is buy this in wide if you are concerned about narrowness. The problem there being that they can be difficult to find in wider sizes and colors can be very limited. The shoe performs well otherwise. Response is good and weight is good. My only other complaint would be that they are starting to go for this style trend with a very tall-sided sole. It gives them a Hoka-esque look that I don't like. It doesn't bother me much when actually used for running, but I tend to burn through running shoes quickly and then use them for casual shoes. For a casual shoe, I find that look a bit exaggerated and cartoonish. Overall, good as a light, responsive, low drop, running shoe. Too narrow and stiff with a poorer aesthetic, as compared to prior versions. Will need to run a bit more in them to decide if I'll repurchase. ... show more

Best pair of running shoes I’ve ever owned , I have bought 3 pairs of these so far the first pair I got was from a local running store and they changed my life I run over 100 miles a week and these are far and away my favorite shoes I’ve ever had they are light weight and comfortable, good for the treadmill or road races , they’ve helped my get faster and I honestly have started to stockpile them cause I love them that much ... show more

Lightweight shoe that is robust although it seems very flimsy at first sight. I've done a hundred miles on them so far including a half marathon race. Good race day shoes due to weight. However, they are a bit harsh for everyday runs due to level of cushioning.
