  • Awesome comfort and my new favorite running shoe
Size: 11.5 Color: Future Black
I order the size of my Nike running shoes and discovered the Nike’s run larger. Ordered my usual size of 10.5 and awaiting that delivery. As for fit, they are very comfortable, lite and plenty of cushion for longer runs. Love this shoe and may be my new running shoe. For 2021 I ran 362 miles and over the past years have run 200+ each year since 2018. Nike has great runners with the AirMax, Joyride Dual Run, Air Zoom Pegasus, Sequent and Epic React Flyknit. The Kinvara 12 was a great fit out of the box, no real breakin period and what was most impressive was the fit and comfort for the sole. For my 10min run days, the shoe performed awesome where I could have run 12 miles without any tightness or loss of cushion support. I’ll stay with this shoe for 2022 to see how many miles before a new pair is needed. If I’m able to run 170miles before the next pair, it’s a win in my book. Happy trails runners. • best Kinvara in years!
I've been running in Kinvaras for years and have owned every number since 3. I was not a big fan of the last few models - 10 and 11 - the tongue was too big and padded and the overall feel was just not quite as good as the 7 and 9 models. Even though I've only run in them twice I can tell this new model - 12 - is one of the best! The tongue is thin and conforms to the top of the foot perfectly. They feel like the old kinvaras - light and fast! Time will tell how they hold up but if they do - I'm buying at least another pair :-) **update**8-23-2021 The model 12 is my favorite Kinvara ever! They still look/feel great after about 400 miles. I've ordered 2 additional pairs since my first. I set a camel-camel-camel price watch and got notified when they dropped under $80. **update**7-12-2022 Still my favorite Kinvara ever - I've put on over 500 miles on a pair and they are still holding up well, especially the bottom of the. The minimal padding has starting to wear down but they are still quite usable... ... show more

  • Great minimalist running shoes
I love these shoes. After running in the now-discontinued New Balance Fresh Foam Zante for many years, I was seriously irritated when they discontinued that shoe. So I was thrilled to find that these new Kinvaras are very similar to the final version of the Zante. Both are minimal shoes with light weight, low drop, and no hard parts on a fully woven upper. This is exactly what I want in a running shoe. I'd run in Kinvaras years ago and liked them, but Saucony styling can be way too loud for my taste. That's a problem because I tend to go through running shoes about every 2 months or so and like to be able to wear them as casual shoes even after the foam has become too compressed for running. And, as much as I like how these shoes run, I still don't love Saucony's colorways. I have these in the seafoam green pattern and I like them as a running shoe but they're probably still a bit loud for my taste as a casual shoe. Still, the benefits as runners make it worthwhile. My second run in these shoes was 12 miles at under 7:00 per mile, which is a quick pace for me, and they felt great. No blisters, irritation, hot spots, or other issues. The all-woven upper plays a big part in that. Lastly, a word on the tongue of these shoes: awesome. In my search for a new daily runner I've found that many makers use tongues which are too firm and irritate or even abrade the ankle when wearing short running socks (I'm looking at you On Clouds). This tongue is like a blanket. If it seems odd to comment so favorably on the tongue of a shoe I can only say that having been rubbed the wrong way by several shoes for several months, I truly appreciate this attention to detail. ... show more

  • Great for runs <10k and speed work
Just outside of the 50mi break-in period but feel fairly confident saying these shoes are great for runs <10K. They are lightweight and comfortable and have a very shallow heel-to-toe drop (i think about 4mm). I've been running in shoes with much larger drops for the past year or so and had forgotten how good it feels to have a more natural foot position. The cons here would be for the sole. The outsole rubber is very minimal and not very durable. I can already see a noticeable amount of wear. This also translates into feeling every pebble and crack in the road or sidewalk. I would definitely not recommend these shoes if your routes go over any gravel roads. Ran over a couple of larger/sharper rocks on a gravel road and could really feel them. I think all of this will translate into a short life for these shoes. Usually, my shoes last 400-500 miles before i feel the foam has collapsed enough to warrant replacing. I worry these will only last 300 miles or so before i will need to replace... but we will see. One huge perk, thus far, is the snappy foam and light weight. Sometimes when i need to take off quickly (get across a street, do interval work... whatever) i can feel the limits of the foam or shoe. The faster i push, the more i can feel the shoes squish and flex or lag which results in an awkward gait. These shoes, by contrast, respond immediately and going from a trot into a sprint is instant and, in fact, these feel the best when running at a brisk clip. So, i think these are great for runs up to 10K and for doing interval training and speedwork. Longer runs may push the limit of comfort given the thin soles. ... show more

  • comfortable shoes
Size: 11.5 Color: Blue/Citrus
I've ran 20-30 miles a week for the past 20 years. I've been running in this version of these shoes for the past 2 years. Highly recommended for someone doing basic cardio.

  • Lightweight and comfy
Size: 8.5 Color: Blue/Citrus
I am only doing 15-20 minutes on a treadmill and stair climber but these shoes have been a winner so far. I don't run fast anymore so support is good and definitely worth paying for the comfort aspect. Great product

  • Very good shoes!
Size: 10 Color: Blue/Citrus
The shoes are very comfortable though they run small. I wear a 9-1/2 but ordered a 10 because of the other reviews I read and they fit perfectly. I'd buy another one in a different color.

  • Great track training shoes
My son is a track and field sprinter and he likes Kinvara for daily training, even though he prefers the previous one Kinvara 11 a bit more due to it having a more snug fit. He like this over other shoes due to Kinvara's light weight and comfort. However, Kinvara 11 appeared to wear out quickly, and we haven't had this long enough to comment on its durability. ... show more
