I had open knee surgery 55 years ago to repair (largely remove) my medial meniscus. I need a stability shoe for my knee, not my ankles. With the right shoe, I can run without discomfort for miles and miles. That's why I've had multiple pairs of NB 1260v6 in my closet for the past decade. But now they're all worn out, and I need to find a new shoe. This may be it, but I've only run on them twice. I'll be back to revise my review if need be. I wear a 10 1/2 street shoe, and I bought a size 11. Perfect. Narrow feet with high arches. This shoe has less arch support than the 1260s, but it seems sufficient given how it guides your foot to the outside. My heel and mid-foot is cradled (nice!). The toe box is MUCH larger than the 1260s, which is going to take awhile to get used to. I like them!

The good: I've been using in varied lineups every 4-5 years. I started with the 5s, then the 11s. The 15s fit as expected (1 size up from my usual shoe), and otherwise so long as it's dry out-- they are great. The bad: The tread design. If it's remotely wet at all outside (no rain) this will wick up every drop of water from the ground/cement/sidewalk and whip it up over the toe of the shoe and wet your socks. This gets incredibly annoying and unless it's dry or a full rain run I refuse to wear them.

I purchased the Guide 15 because I had read that they are cushiony which I need after knee surgery years ago. I use them for running and only running, 10 to 15 miles per week. The heels and rubber look to be long lasting at this point (about 5 weeks of use). My only gripe is that the upper materials are a bit "cheap" compared to Brooks, but I don't think it will matter since the bottoms wear the fastest. Good running shoe for someone that needs the cushioning, I think they're going to last me longer than most shoes.

The shoe does what it's meant to except that it lacks in one very important area - shoe laces keep coming undone. This was not an issue with the earlier models on the Guide which were fabric/elastic. These laces are not elastic and so it seems they lose their ability to grip (think rebar/concrete) when contracted. In addition, after 95km of running, the lace strap broke from its anchoring. That meant I had to cut a hole in the shoe to route my lace through. Overall, a good shoe, just small usability issues. The more fancier it is, the more that can break. Keep lace holes original, and it'll be just fine.

These shoe cannot handle any amount of water, so if its damp outside don't even wear them. They get ruined pretty easily in regards to water and sweat. They are really comfortable if you are walking or light jogging, or working out. These shoes aren't made for standing still, you seem to sink into the foam if you're standing in the same spot for too long.
