It took about 50 miles or so before this shoe felt just about right for me. It feels pretty lightweight and i can use the Axons for some faster runs, but they work equally well on slow runs. They're not too mushy and not too hard. I'll probably buy another pair once these wear out. I have 5 different models of Saucony shoes. Here's a quick opinion on all of them: Freedom 4: If you're used to high stack cushioned shoes, there will feel very different. They're super light. I try to keep my runs under 6 miles with these shoes. Guide 14: The heaviest of the Saucony shoes I own. I can definitely feel the support to keep my foot from overpronating. I think they're my least favorite because they feel like my slowest shoe. Endorphin Speed: Lightweight. Midsole is pretty firm, but because of the high stack it feels plenty supportive. I get my fastest times in these shoes. Cohesion 13: A bargain running shoe, but they actually worked very well for me. I got 400 miles out of them and I have no complaints other than the insole slipping ( I had to reglue it a couple times). Triumph 20: Definitely a max cushion shoe. I use these for my longest runs. Not meant for faster days, in my opnion. They're the second heaviest shoe after the Guide. ... show more

Fits true to size (same size as my Nike and adidas running shoes). Light and stable midsole. Provides a cushioned ride without the squishy and mushy midsoles on max cushion shoes. Rocker sole makes for a smooth toe off. Really like these shoes.

Have used various Saucony shoes for years for short-distance, track workouts, and marathon training and marathons. Had never heard of these until I saw positive reviews on a few running shoe review websites, so I bought these (version 2) at a discount on a whim to see if they lived up to the hype. Yes, they do. While I would not race in them (probably going with Endorphin Pro 3 next event), they are indeed a solid training shoe. In fact, they got me out the door and allowed me to complete a long run during a week when I had a little flare of PF in the ball of one foot. The high, curved/rolling toe and firm, snappy toe-off provided enough help with transition that the PF was not an issue on a hilly training course. They naturally propel you forward, so I was not overworking my PF. And to my surprise, they do quite well on hills. I was worried about the low 4mm drop on my calves and Achilles since I usually run in shoes that have about an 8mm drop, so I took out the factory insert and replaced it with a SuperFeet insert that has a little more lift and a touch of medial support. Maybe not necessary because they're fairly stable shoes for a neutral shoe, but for peace of mind and prevention. I felt good at the end of the run, no issues, no additional irritation to my PF.
