Well, an umbrella is used for rain, so that is what I used it for It is very sturdy, good quality Fabric & frame. It was a bit stiff to open & close at first, but has eased up with use. I would definately re ommend it.

This umbrella is my favorite by far. I have umbrellas since the age of six, yet I’ve never had one like this. I am amazed how it with-stood a strong thunderstorm here in South Carolina, but it also protected my husband, self, as well as my daughter from the water and moisture. It looks like an absolute pro and definitely is not for fashion statements. It didn’t come with instructions so I really wasn’t sure how to open/close it. I was incredibly nervous the first couple times trying to close it without getting sliced! I realized one day, when I was pressing the button to open it back up, it closes automatically if you press the button! I have never known an umbrella to work with such precision and ease until now.

The Satol umbrella is a lot of umbrella to be packed tightly in a small compact and portable size. WEIGHT For being such a small size the umbrella does come with quite a bit of weight to it. On my kitchen scale it weighs 1 pound, 3 ounces. That doesn't sounds like a lot to me but then I compared it to my lightweight compact umbrella and that one is only 5.5 ounces. While the lightweight alternative umbrella I sometimes use is compact and light it doesn't even come close to the coverage you get from the Satol's 62" width. SAFTEY DESIGN Although this is a black umbrella, it's a great design detail to have the thin yellow trim around the edges. The bold yellow is a great way to be seen on the street by cars as an extra safty measure. PERFORMANCE The Satol umbrella seems to be very powerful and sturdy. It shoots out and unfolds quickly with the press of the button. But I will say that on my first day using it coming out of the subway into a very rainy windy situation it flipped inside out right away just like any other umbrella would do. Once I got it flipped back it I was very glad to have it. The amount of coverage is fantastic, keeping me well protected from the oncoming rain. I also used the umbrella on a lightly misty day and felt like it was so much coverage that it was a little overkill for me. I'm a small person and it takes a bit of strength to hold the umbrella upright so on those not so rainy, misty days I feel like it's a lot to carry. For the very rainy days, this is an excellent portable umbrella. And on the less rainy, misty days if given the choice I go with something lighter. But if I have the choice to have only one umbrella I would got with the Satol because when the rain is pouring down hard it's great to have all that coverage.

So far, so good with the umbrella. For the size that it opens up to, it is actually quite light. For something that I’m going to tote around like in my purse it is quite heavy. But again for the size I was surprised at how small it folds down to and how light it is again for what it opens up to. It is very easy to open - a little tougher to close. That is because the pole goes so high you really have to work it to close it. This would be great to keep like in the car or at the door for heavy bouts of rain. But not something I’m going to carry around in my purse. I tested it but there’s not really a lot of wind these days when it rains. I will be able to test this better once late autumn and even winter rolls around in New York City. That will be the true test if this thing holds up to rain and wind. The material is also super super super thin. Which I was kind of surprised at but I guess that’s how it helps keep it so light. So again, I really have to see how this holds up to pouring pouring rain. As I have had umbrellas where it just starts to leak right through the material. So again more testing is needed to truly see if this is the real deal. But so far for the price and for the size it functions wonderfully.

This umbrella is fantastic. I love how compact it gets when it's folded up, but at the same time, it provides ample coverage whenever you're out and about in a pretty good downpour. My wife and I were able to share this while we were doing errands the other weekend when it was pouring outside. And it made it much more enjoyable as we weren't getting soaked. in and out of the stores. The quality of this item is well-built. and withstood the moderate wind that was. impacting us on that rainy day. If you're looking for an oversized umbrella that folds up to a compact size when not in use, this is the umbrella for you.

This umbrella provdes the protection of a typical golf umbrella but collapses to fit in my trusty vehicle's glove box. It opens and closes easily. Actually it opens so quickly with the press of a button you should be sure you hold the umbrella up so no one gets hit. The double canopy design of this umbrella is stellar. This spring I was at an outdoor event and it began to pour rain. So much rain that the top of my umbrella actually leaked. I think that would be an unlikely scenario with this double-canopy design. The reflective strips are an excellent safety feature. For its size, this umbrella is surprisingly light. I have not had an opportunity it test its wind resiliency. This is a wonderful umbrella at a great price!
