I got these to cut 4/0 welding wire and it couldn't cut all the way through. It more or less pinched it and I had to cut it with bolt cutters. Now 4 gauge it cuts fine.

For small stuff works good. Once you get to 0\2 or larger cable (1\2 inch or larger) You have to use two hands to get the cut started.
