    • Almost perfect
If you detail vehicles you will need an extractor eventually. We have a steamer by Chief as well for detailing as well but extraction can be key many times. You then have to decide heated or not….not being cheaper but honestly, really needed, so pony up the extra for a heated system. The Sandia Indy 6 gallon unit is impressive but has some downfalls. First, it comes really down to Mytee or Sandia for most detail businesses in all reality. I was on the fence for sure. But after reading of late some pump issues with Mytee, I chose Sandia who has been making these units for some time. Do you read bad reviews for these too, sure you do. Anything mechanical will have issues in all reality, you just hope your machine was better put together and with internal parts that came off the line right. Now to the Indy sixxer as I call it. Well made with the heavy duty poly plastic shell. The stainless 4” wand extractor is a plus over a clear view plastic for longevity. The top lid where extracting fluid goes is nice and no frills, just straight forward works. This system uses the single three phase 100 psi injector and works well. The fifteen foot hose gets you easily into most vehicles I have seen with extra to spare. The heated extraction fluid takes a moment to heat in the tank so turn the heater on about 15 minutes prior to needing it to make sure it gets heated. Then, place the wand tip back into the top solution tank and spray so as to not waste any fluid until the fluid exiting the injector is hot to the touch. It gets I assume right around 200 degrees but have not measured it with a IR thermometer. The extractor vacuum is very good at I recall 117” of lift. Not shabby one bit. You will still need air movers to dry a interior prior to a client getting their car. Rolls easily around the shop and is well suited for most as it is not too wide. So what do I dislike about this machine??? Well, the top mounted switches which are a plus do not have the protective pliable rubber switch protectors on them in case one had a gross mishap of spilling liquid on them. The system may be sealed behind the plate for all I know but I would still feel better if they had this small and cheaply priced feature. Also, the front wheels do not lock with a coaster style brake mechanism which would be nice. The last thing I would have liked to have seen like Mytee does for the empty valve of a similar sized machine (HP60) is a turn down pipe for bleeding off. It works as is but a turn down would have been better. Once again, a cheaply made option. I would have loved for Sandia to have built in some way a hose hanger for this system as well. Overall, I would like to give the system a rating of maybe 4.5 based on the points mentioned above and taking off for the in or stuff. So my rating of 4 stars is in a reality low but Amazon does not do half star increments. Just so you know, I think both Sandia and Mytee use the same internal parts like pumps and vacuum motors to a big degree. So there you have my two cents……..as to cleaning (extraction) using some of the industry best extraction fluids, it works like a champ! ... show more
