I tried 4 monitors before selecting this one. The first was a 34” curved WQHD with speakers and critically a USB-C for powering / viewing my work laptop when needed. It had serviceable speakers and a camera and helped me key my desk clean from tons of extra peripherals and cables. In the end the picture sharpness and brightness were underwhelming especially given I was retiring my 2013 iMac. I then tried an OLED monitor which had a phenomenal picture but it missed on other requirements like not having a USB-C. Also didn’t have speakers or a web cam. I tried another 34” curved WQHD monitor (IPS this time) with the USB-C and speakers (no web cam), but after hooking up my new Mac Mini to this monitor and the curved one it was no contest. Note this last monitor I tested was on sale at Staples for almost half off; I really wanted to pick it because it hit my main requirements. In the end it was worth it to have the rich color 4K display of this monitor even though I had to “bolt on” a web cam and speakers. I love it! ... show more

    • Great Monitor for the Price - Be prepared to adjust settings

I've had the monitor for a couple of weeks, and overall I think it is a really great monitor for the price. If you need a gaming monitor, you are likely not even considering this one, but for work applications, that need a lot of monitor real estate for a price that is not budget-crushing...this should be a top consideration. Pros: Superb picture quality (Once settings are dialed in) Nice overall look, thin bezel The stand that comes with it works well for my needs (it is compact and holds monitor still) Cons: Settings to get the look dialed in, took considerable trial and error...mostly error. Out of the box, with my Mac Mini, it was ridiculously dim. I mean, I thought I must have gotten a lemon it was so dim. Several days of trying different settings on both my Mac and the monitor, and I finally got exactly what I was looking for. I've been through many monitors and I have never experiences this much difficulty getting the correct settings. Your milage may vary, and you may like the look out of the box....I did not. Everyone's setup is different, so I won't bother with my final settings, just suffice it to say...you will likely have to experiment some, but persiverence will be rewarded with a stout visual experience. I read in the reviews where some felt the monitor stand was weak and lacked in adjustment options. I don't agree on the weakness part. I type with enthusiasm, and it does not move one bit for me, but I do have a fairly solid desk. I agree in the lack of adjustment options. Can toggle front and backward, and toggle on left right axis. That is it. No height adjustment.     • Bought 3 of these, after about 6 months one had a cluster of 12 dead pixels

As the title says, I bought 3 and after 10 months of moderate usage, one has a cluster of 12 dead pixels near the corner. The other two monitors are still in great condition. I contacted customer support and I was pleased that their online chat was quick, efficient and helpful. I got in contact with a real person almost instantly, and after collecting a bit of information they promptly approved a free repair and sent me a free shipping label. I haven't sent it out for repair yet, but if the repair goes as good as their customer service I will be very happy. 12 pixels dead out of a total of 24.9 million that I bought is a failure rate of under 2 parts per million, which is very good, and they are still going to fix it for free. I will update this review if the repair doesn't go well. Edit: Samsung has the worst warranty/repair service I have ever dealt with in my life. They sent me back a monitor that was in worse condition and when i sent it back for a second repair they tried to charge me then ghosted me for over 6 months! I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and it took them a month to finally issue me a coupon to purchase a replacement through their store. They also misrepresented the resolution to BBB and claimed they gave me a cash refund. The product itself is good, but I will never buy a Samsung product again. ... show more
