I have been using this monitor for a few months now for gaming and for work and it has been awesome! I found it surprising how quickly I got used to the larger format, 49" feels super normal after such a short period of time, my previously large-feeling 32"s now appear compact. Only two downsides of having a large monitor that I never considered is that you're constantly moving your neck to just read/look at things and most of the world is not servicing 5120x1440 resolution perfectly. Those two downsides don't pertain to this monitor any more than other large ones, just factors I never considered. Would absolutely love to get a second one soon to stack vertically for a dual 16:9 resolution, soon! ... show more

Gross disappointment. Worst large investment made for a "monitor". Worst of all is the service. I had expected great service from Samsung but alas, no service and just get you in to maze/loop of answering non applicable chat questions for support. I remember not being talk to anyone. The screen flickers. At times completely blanks out depriving you of a complete control of your desktop, with an only option to blindly shut down and restart that is not appreciated by many ongoing applications/web sessions. ... show more

Overall I really like this monitor a lot. I bought this monitor for productivity and not for gaming so I can't speak to all the gaming technical specs. What I can say is it's a very impressive piece of equipment and definitely makes a statement. The size is substantial so a large desk is almost a necessity. The build quality is very good. The controls are intutitive with a single button that toggles to access the various menus and functions of the monitor. Currently I have the monitor connected to a Microsoft Surface Pro 7+. Definitely not a super graphics specific setup but the Surface Pro 7+ does a fantastic job. For productivity the picture is amazing. This is definitely a major upgrade from my previous setup. You can customize every aspect of the picture adjusting it to whatever your preference is easily. As a side note, I've had a movie and TV streaming in the background while doing work and have to say you could use this monitor as a dedicated TV. Using Microsoft Power Tools' Fancy Zones I divide the screen into 3 subscreens. The 3 subscreens are roughly 17-20 inches diagonal each. With this configuration I find my productivity has really improved. Or at the very least it is much easier than my previous one screen with multiple tabs monitor setup. Switching between applications is super quick and viewing multiple applications at the same time reduces mistakes and for me saves so much time. It's almost enjoyable? I think however, what I really like about this monitor is the 1800R curvature (larger number = less curve). For productivity I think this curvature is the sweet spot. I previously purchased the Samsung Odyssey G9 with the 1000R curvature. Althought I liked that monitor, I thought the 1000R curve was slightly too much. Having used both the 1000R and 1800R for productivity and streaming I prefer the flatter 1800R curvature. Don't get me wrong the G9 was an excellent piece of equipment but for what I use it for I'm glad I returned the G9 and purchased the CRG9. Summary: If you're considering an ultra wide monitor setup, have the desk space, and prefer a flatter ultra wide curved monitor, the CRG9 is a winner and definitely worth considering.     • Works great.....until the manufacturer's warranty expires.
Right about the time our manufacturer's warranty expired, this item conveniently stopped working correctly. Warranty was only for one year, in my personal opinion a monitor that cost almost a grand should work longer than one year.
