    • SM-G950U Galaxy S8 works in US, S.Korea, & Japan!
SM-G950U SM = Samsung G = Galaxy 950 = S8 U = Factory Unlocked (US Market) I was looking for an Android cell phone that wouldn't break the bank, have alot of the current features & specs, work in the US (AT&T, Verizon, etc Not Sprint), work in South Korea (Korea Telecom (KT), LG U+, SK, etc), & work in Japan (Softbank, AU, etc). Well after my research, we all know all Samsung Galaxy models have different sub-models for different markets/regions throughout the world. I am happy to report the phone I bought for Verizon (US), KT (S.Korea), & Softbank (Japan) works on all three cell phone providers using their SIM Cards. The condition from the Amazon retailer was in like new condition with no sign of use. The phone was a US Verizon S8 as it boots up with the Verizon logo at startup. I prefer the S8 over the S8+ due to easier one handed manipulation. It appears almost identical to the S9, so if you want to look the part, it is pretty up-to-date looking. The US market S8 has the snapdragon chip, unlike the International version I was looking at. They are really the same speed but name brand is important to me. Something I learned is most newer Samsungs that have the access to the SIM Card at the top of the cell phone using the pin can insert and use two SIM cards at the same time. The second place is for a second SIM or the external memory MicroSD Card. One word for what my specific needs were for this Samsung S8 purchase: Perfect! I was looking for a phone to replace my Samsung S7 because the battery was not keeping a charge and I didn't like that. I didn't want to spend alot on a phone, but thought I'd move up to the Samsung Galaxy S8 - while I like the phone and its features, I'm seeing that the battery life is not what I had hoped. I was looking for a phone that would hold a battery charge for at least 12 hours. I do like that camera zoom and the pictures it takes are very good. I took a screenshot on June 1st when I had unplugged my phone from charging overnight and as you can see, it says 5 hours 3 minutes for discharging. Am I reading that incorrectly, but it's pretty deceiving??? ... show more

    • Sadly, smply did not work!
The good: the phone really did look *nearly* flawless. Very sharp. (More on that in a minute.) The bad: Tried it with two different carriers (Visible, Tello), two different SIM cards, went through various troubleshooting steps with various techs, and the phone still wouldn't connect to either service. Both SIM cards and services worked fine with other devices. At which point I had no choice but to conclude this phone just didn't work. :( The ugly: Although not a showstopper, the phone was also not the color I ordered (and paid a little extra for). While the bezel was the arctic silver, the back appeared to be the orchid color! It was kind of sharp, actually, but not as described. All and all, just NOT the experience I had hoped for! ... show more

    • Love my "renewed" phone
I am upgrading from a Note5 and by comparison this phone is thinner and more comfortable in my hand. I love the screen it really does improve the aesthetics of the overall phone. I am learning Bixby still but so far I am impressed. The subtle improvements made over the past few upgrades are noticeable and appreciated. I used to be an Apple user but became bored with their products. This is a certified refurbished phone, but I honestly couldn't tell. It is in excellent condition and everything you are promised with a brand new phone was included and everything was packaged as if from the factory, just not in the Samsung box. When I turned the phone on, I was greeted with the Verizon intro, but after inserting my AT&T sim card my network settings replaced Verizon's and with Smartswitch, the transition between the two phones was seamless. I recommend certified refurbished or renewed phones from Amazon because they stand by what they promise. I reccomend any of the Galaxy line to anyone in the market for a new phone. Even my Note5 was a great phone and far more advanced than the same version of the other brand, which I also have. ... show more

This phone is not a Verizon phone as indicated; therefore, when I went to activate the phone through page plus, I was not able to do so. After I went to the Verizon store to activate it; however, even the person activating my phone had a problem. Turns out that this phone was not a verizon phone, so I had to wait 8-10 hours to obtain service. For that reason I give it 3 stars. If I had known that this phone was not a verizon phone I would not have purchased it in the first place, as I really wanted to activate it through my original carrier (Page Plus).
