This is a gorgeous monitor at a very attractive price. I can't speak to its use as a gaming monitor, as I use it for general computing (email, web-browsing, docx and pdf file creation, YouTube and streaming video, etc.), but for my purposes it is wonderful. The curved screen is a real plus, especially at this large image size, and it's a breeze to set up on a Windows 10 computer. A word of advice: the base of this monitor is different from the one shown in the Amazon ad. As you can see in the accompanying photo, the base is round, rather than the winged version that Amazon displays in its ad. (There are other models in the CF390 series that have the winged base, but not this one.) I was actually happy about that mismatch, as the round base seems preferable to me -- it takes up less room on my desktop. Note also that the printed documentation that comes with this monitor is meager, at best. There is little there but some hard-to-interpret ideograms for setting it up (with accompanying text in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese), and a brochure explaining the (to my mind, useless) "Eye-Saver Mode" in 34 different languages. Seriously! What's missing is any instruction on the use of the "joy-stick" control on the back of the monitor, which is an all-purpose control for setting brightness, contrast, display mode, on-off, etc. It's pretty intuitive, but still, there should be something. Fortunately, there is a downloadable PDF at the Samsung website that is more like a proper user's guide. But even that does not discuss the use of the joy-stick. What is it with the people who write documentation for tech products? But enough griping. This is a magnificent monitor at a very attractive price. I just love it. ... show more

    • A Nice Monitor at a Reasonable Price

I have used this monitor enough to say that I'm glad I got the curved screen. To get the same expansive view with a flat screen would take about a 30" unit. Because of the corner position of my desk with credenza, it ended up 3 or 4 inches closer to me than the 24" flat monitor it replaced, which was partially tucked under the credenza. My viewing distance is about 24". If I lean forward a couple of inches to view details with my bifocals, I can make out the pixels; but all text, pictures, and videos are plenty sharp for my viewing. The colors are excellent, the blacks are quite good. I have separate speakers which are better than those on board. The screen did come with a single vertical cyan line about a 1/2 inch from the left side. It shows up primarily when the screen is white. It's a minor annoyance that I have chosen to live with. Other than everything seems to work as advertised. Installation was easy except that I had to crawl under my desk to plug into my desktop computer. I've been using this monitor for years now. I have one I purchased 7 years ago and it's still going and my newer one is a nice addition. The graphics is great, the speed. I couldn't be happier and the price is perfect. I game so I play several high graphical requirement games. I haven't had any issues out of either of my monitors. The size is really nice if I get another one I may step up the size but these are perfect really. Great quality, performance and price. Highly recommended ... show more

    • 5 Minute Setup and Great Image Quality

I've been using two monitors for years. When I purchased a 27-inch all-in-one a few years ago, I replaced a desktop with two 24-inch monitors. I purchased another brand 27-inch monitor that started blacking out just after the return window closed. I put up with it for a couple of years and decided to replace it with a, hopefully, more dependable model. It took about 5 minutes, after unpacking, to have it up and running. Slip the riser into the stand, tighten the screw, slip the monitor on the riser, plug in the HDMI and power cables, and set it up in your display settings. That's all there is to it. Couldn't be easier. I'm not using the eye saver mode, I have an app I'm already using for that, so I can't comment on the monitor app. The curve isn't dramatic. It's just a slight curve and it actually does make a difference, compared to a flat screen. I can't really fully explain it, but it makes it easier to focus your eyes on the web page. You can pretty much view the entire page without moving your head, or even your eyes, much. The image quality is excellent, bringing even small details and print into full focus. Note: I paid an excellent price when I purchased this monitor on December 3rd. The price has raised three times since I made my purchase. If you aren't planning on purchasing this monitor as a Christmas gift, you may want to wait until after Christmas to see if the price drops back down. ... show more

    • A great monitor

Unfortunately the first one is defective but I have ordered a replacement from Amazon. This one stopped working after a day or so and refused to turn on and i wasn't sure if it was the PC or the monitor but i found that when i unplugged and plugged it in in works for hours or a day and then when turned off and wont turn back on. On to the pro's: Its got a great picture and despite this being billed as a business monitor it does fine for home or gaming use. Its so easy on the eyes that its amazingly clear. I play world of warships with this and its like crystal. Don't forget to set anti-alias in the game settings. I have a two years old 26 inch HP monitor that has been perfect but this one is incredible... So much that I will wait for a replacement rather than go back to the hp. ... show more

This monitor is a great buy; it has a great picture quality and is the perfect size for using working from home. I initially received this as a gift, but liked it so much I purchased a second one. The curved screen is a nice touch, it definitely is more comfortable to look at in a dual monitor setup than having 2 traditional flat panels. I also appreciate that while the bases are large, they are flat, which allows you to set items on them without rolling off. The only feature that doesn't quite make sense is the headphone jack; it is located next to the power port, so it isn't easily reached without standing up or fumbling around the back with your hand. It would've been nice to see the port located near the screen edge or by the power button so it can be quick to reach, but that isn't a huge drawback. ... show more

I bought this to provide a 2nd monitor to my PC along with the other 27" monitor that I have. My PC didn't have two HDMI monitor ports but did have one of the older pin ports, so I was able to use this 2nd monitor with my PC without having to add an additional video card or modifying my PC to have it work. I did not purchase the monitor for gaming, so I have not reviewed it for that, but I do my business work on it and I am very pleased with that quality of the monitor. It has a good picture quality and works well for me. The price was very competitive and overall I am very pleased with this purchase. ... show more
