SAMSUNG S27R650FDN, SR650 Series 27 inch IPS 1080p: My 2014 Mac mini cannot support 4k, but handles 1080p well. With that limitation I was looking for the very best 1080p display I could find. I am extremely pleased with this display. Very sharp but not pixilated. Has a "sharpness" setting that changes the blend between pixels. Colors are very vibrant and natural. I am very pleased. Have owned a number of 27" displays, this is probably the best for image quality. I cannot speak to gaining, only use it to view videos and photos and text and for that it works very well.     • “Used- like New” not so much

I purchased a used version because I wanted a second monitor for work, and I thought it would nice to have the monitors match, because well, I like symmetry. However I wasn’t wanting to pay full price if I didn’t have to. When I found the “used- like new” version of this I was stoked! It arrived today and I was hopeful because it came with the original box packaging, pamphlets, cords etc. but once I got it set up I was disappointed. There is a little hair thin line of pixels horizontally across the screen about an once and a half from the bottom of the screen. Not horrible but also not awesome. I changed the background picture to something that made it less obvious. Then I realized that there’s a whole half inch of pixels on the right side of the screen that are I guess are dead or something? I don’t know I’m not like a computer expert, but they’re definitely not working and they’re black. So that was even more of a bummer. I definitely would NOT consider this “like new” condition. Maybe, if I’m being gracious, I would consider it “used - good condition” because it generally works, but I don’t think I would have purchased it. I contacted the seller to see if there was anything that can be done but it was the end of the day and I had to leave a message. Hopefully I’ll hear back from someone tomorrow. If something changes or the seller is open to trying to make it better then great, I’ll happily revise my review. I’ll keep y’all posted with any updates! ... show more

    • Decent Monitor but little pricy!

I bought this particular monitor to replace my ASUS 24 inch monitor. The look and feel is great but I found this to be expensive. I was hoping it would come with an in-built speakers but sadly it doesn't. I was aware of this but compared to all other monitors on prime day, this one stood out. The main feature that I was looking for was the height adjustment. It says under information that HDMI is 60HZ and Optimal mode is 60 hz, but it is advertised as 75 hz. I had to manually change it in macbook pro to 75Hz but the monitor still says 60 Hz which I don't understand I thought the PIVOT feature works automatically but sadly it doesn't. I have a Macbook pro which is connected to the monitor via HDMI. I had to manually change the rotation to 90 degrees in system preferences -> display, in order to view the content in the monitor at 90 degrees. It has 4 usb ports (2 X usb 2.0) and (2 x usb 3.0). Sadly, the usb dongle that came with the keyboard and monitor does not work when I connect to any one of them. I believe they are not fit for 2.0 and 3.0 version.     • Crisp, clear text and images, vibrant colors, on a 2012 MacPro desktop Mac computer

Crisp, clear, gorgeous picture! Text is crisp, no shadows. Colors are vibrant, high quality nature photos are gorgeous on this monitor. And it worked perfectly right out of the box with no futzing around with fonts etc. Chose this for compatibility with my mid-2012 MacPro desktop silver tower computer. Works perfectly! I did need to buy a DVI-to-HDMI cable as none of the included cables covered that. I replaced an existing 10-year-old Samsung monitor of the same size and resolution needing a lighter weight wall monitor for my new desk set up. The old Samsung was still working perfectly, but we’re now in an RV rolling around the country on bumpy washboard roads and everything gets jarred. I didn’t know how long the old girl would last, and I didn’t want to try to replace her when we were a million miles from civilization. So I chose this moment for a new one while it was easy to do. Excellent picture quality. I am stunned that the picture on this really pops compared to my old 27” monitor with all parameters the same: 1920x1080 resolution, running 60Hz, 16:9 aspect ratio, 1000:1 contrast, 5ms response time, 16.7 million colors… As for usage, I spend hours a day at my computer so the monitor matters. I spend much of my time in word processing or reading PDFs, but I also produce print-quality graphics. My only complaints are that it doesn’t have much of a frame. I like having a solid monitor frame so that I’m not touching the screen to move the monitor, and in the RV I do have to move it. The other thing is that the controls button is in the back, and as far as I can tell, everything is done from that button if you want or need to go into the control panel for the monitor. I prefer those controls to be in the front, on the frame, as actual buttons. That said, minimal frame monitors with buttons on the back seem to be all the thing these days, so I must be in the minority for preferring the other way. Still in all, I am delighted with the Samsung Business S27R650FDN monitor. This is my third Samsung monitor through the years. Previously I had a 2010 P2770HD 27” monitor, and a 2008 2693HM monitor. The 2008 was mine, and the 2010 was my husband’s. My 2008 gave out a couple years ago and he gave up his 2770 to me. It’s still working but I upgraded to a new one anyway. ... show more

    • Beautiful functioning monitor

For the price of $200-$300 it works great as a second monitor. It's LED, has 75hz, can pivot and swivel. It has every function you'll need as a second monitor. Compared to a $860 4k monitor i bought which only lasted 3 weeks, this monitor has been working perfectly fine. Only downside I would say is the lack of built-in audio and only one hdmi port, which is kind of sad coz it could be used as a gaming monitor is it has an extra hdmi port.     • Could really been better.

Purchased this for work. The screen will enlarge and I would have to restart to fix it. Also, the functions are a little frustrating due to it being a toggle button that sometimes works when you need to turn it off. Also the screen mat go to half view at times.
