  • Worst deal ever on Amazon
Size: 43-Inch Style: Display Only
Over the years I've bought many Samsung devices, phones, tablets. During that period I've noticed a decline in quality. I thought I could have been overly critical, but this TV proved my findings to be correct. Not only did this TV not work with my Comcast cable TV device, the remote control was really cheaply made with a half dozen buttons, some of them sticking in the depressed position, the menu software was so slow you could never be sure if it was ever going to respond. There were more less offensive deficiencies but it was enough to say USLESS, so I returned it, only to get the final insult when they informed me my refund would take 3 weeks or more. That's my final purchase from Samsung! Also, the picture was not very good and the adjustment menu's were clumsy, slow and failed to improve the picture. UPDATE: They finally issued my refund after 3 weeks!!! ... show more

  • Business Signage TV, NO Smart Apps.
Size: 65-Inch Style: Display Only
This item is a business TV, and NOT a consumer Smart TV "for home." This is meant to be brighter and longer-lasting and more simplistic than a "normal" Smart TV, and meant for use in lobbies, offices, etc. as digital signage. This does not have Smart apps like Netflix, but it can connect to a Fire Stick. ... show more

  • Great TV but be careful with the revision
Size: 55-Inch Style: Display Only
I got this to finally upgrade from 1080p. I really wanted a dumb tv, but those don't really exist at this size in 4k anymore. This has some smarts but they are focused on business functions and there aren't any of the usual streaming apps available. It also works happily not connected to the Internet so it's as close I can get. The 55" picture is fantastic. Bright colors and good darks. This TV is much lighter than the old one it replaced and the super thing bezel means it takes up much less room. It comes with Samsung's Tizen operating system and has 3 HDMI ports (one for ARC). It also came with feet for the stand and has a VESA 100 mounting holes on the back in the center and uses M8 19-21mm screws for mounting (these need to be acquired separately; I picked some up from the hardware store). The TV itself has no buttons or controls on it. You either have to use the remote to turn it on, or it turns on when you power on a connected device. I purchased the "2024 revision". There's very scant info on the Internet about this model (BED-H) and it was even a chore to find the official Samsung product page for it. One extremely disappointing thing about this is it does not, in fact, have Optical or Coaxial digital audio output. It only uses its built in speaker, HDMI ARC, or bluetooth for audio output. All of the available info says it does have those pther connectors, but I believe they were removed in the 2024 revision. My existing soundbar didn't have HDMI and we were using optical but now that's not an option. We were able to hook it up with Bluetooth luckily, but this is just a stop gap until we can upgrade the soundbar. I'm disappointed we have to though. If you are in the market for a dumb tv, this is a good option. One tip I saw someone else post was to check for software updates once even if you don't plan on using this with any other smart features; when trying to hook up the soundbar to Bluetooth it didn't work at first, but I connected to wifi and downloaded the latest update and after that it worked fine. The remote is very stripped down and is basically just to navigate the tv OS. Switch inputs involves going home and then selecting the input; they appear as tiles next to the built-in apps. Easy enough but I kind of wish there was a way to do it manually. I can't comment on the business related functions but the manual appears to cover those adequately. I've contemplated keeping it hooked to the network and using the management smartphone app but I haven't decided yet. Overall very happy, but still angry about the incorrect info on the available input/output. ... show more

  • Works, but has nasty trap that might get you.
Size: 50-Inch Style: Display Only
Update 12/05/2024 at end.. I bought this because I did not want a 'smart' TV. I needed a couple of HDMI inputs and a Tuner to watch over-the-air TV. I did not want a mandatory account with some company and a giant page of ads just to watch my own content (or play on an XBOX/Playstation.. etc). This works fine for that. While they would love for you to turn on the 'smart' functionality, they don't push it. This is really supposed to be something you park up on a wall in your business and have something customers can look at. It has a good tuner and the inputs are sufficient for most needs. The picture quality is fine. I have never pushed it hard to see how 'purdy' it might get. So whats this 'trap' I speak of? A failure mode that really sucks. My unit went in to a funky state where you can not access the menu system (they call the HUB). If you try, you get a message saying "Preparing. Try again later". The operating system (OS) in the device is running. That's why you can get messages telling you to go away. So, in my case, I was stuck on the HDMI port I was last using. Which for the most part (while I was researching the issue) was fine. After many reboots, unplugs, etc, one day I found I could change to TV channels with the remote. Yay! (not so fast there champ).. But now I can not switch back to the HDMI ports. That requires access to the HUB screen to choose inputs. If you research the issue (use the message above), you find this is not an issue with this specific model. A large number of Samsung models have this problem. It is not isolated. You are not alone. BTW: the remote sucks for being very minimalistic. Hey, you don't need 50 buttons if you are going to stick this on the wall in your business. Right? Certainly not a button to switch inputs. Complaining aside, it works fine as a display. You do not have to connect it to any network or get an internet account to use it. The UI is functional, if not a bit 'not for the home' kind of techie oriented. Attach it to a nice sound bar and it is very serviceable in the living room. Unless you get bitten by the trap. (Now I have to go see if all the support line horror stories are true for me too) --- update --- No change in rating, but.. you can dig yourself out of the trap (mostly). After some wrangling, including removing the TV from the wall mount, dragging it to my cable modem and directly plugging in to the network, it popped up a network settings menu. I set it to use wired network and it was able to see the internet. Then after a cold boot or three, it suddenly started letting more things work. I plugged my laptop in on an HDMI port, and Windows saw the display, but nothing showed on screen. A bit more cajoling and another reboot, and it wanted me to login into a Samsung account. I resisted and nothing better happened. Since I had a really old account, I set that up. At this point, I could get DeX to work from my Samsung phone. So I could use it as a desktop from my phone, and I can also still change TV channels. There was no antenna, so nothing to see, but we were making progress. Another hard reboot and it stated it was installing an update. After that, the 'hub' screen now comes up. I can switch between TV and plugged in devices! Out of the woods, right? Not quite. The setting menu will not load. Audio will only go out the TV speakers, and not my HDMI connected soundbar. For now that will work. There is no way to make any settings menu based changes. For the basic settings I can change basic image settings (cool, standard, warm,warm2) and a basic audio setting (standard, adaptive). But not much more. I would not wish this pain on anyone else. I am a bit of a tech-head by profession. Getting it this far was a major pain in the a*s. It works as a nice display. PC, Game console and TV work. No soundbar. So 4 out of 5 is better then just 1. Still haven't called support. Trying to avoid that as much as possible. Right now I think I know more about the problem then a first tier support center tech will. And I don't really know jack. Except you can get out of the hole. Mostly. Extra note: It is no longer connected to the internet. No functionality was lost in doing that. If I want it to connect to the internet, I let it use a hotspot out of my phone temporarily. Very controllable. ... show more
