  • Pretty much perfect right out of the box!
I was one of the lucky ones and got a perfect monitor right out of the box. Set up was a breeze. I only had to buy one new cable for it. I have this thing connected to two machines, a PC and a Mac Studio. I had to buy a new DP to Thunderbolt cable for it to work at 144Hz since my Mac Studio is old. But it was a small price to pay to not have two giant monitors on my desk anymore. It feels so liberating and looks so much cleaner! I opted for this model because I wanted to stay clear of all the bloatware. I had originally planned to get the 57" model, but that curve was way too out of control for my taste. Not to mention the blacks on this monitor are spectacular! People that complain about color accuracy need to suck it up and get a monitor calibrater. With a few minutes of tweaking this thing is perfectly fine for all the photo editing and graphics work that I do for a living. The only thing I find weird about this monitor is the pixel shifting it does I'm assuming its an OLED burn in thing? I sit in front of this thing about 12 hours a day and I notice it doing it a few times a day. Another things that I feel compelled to complain about (since this is a product review) is the power cable is a bit short. The brick hangs about 4 inches shy of the floor. An extra 6 inches would have helped! ... show more

  • Good Monitor For Productivity
Great monitor! Looks and feels really good. I've currently got it setup in PBP mode as my secondary monitor and it is amazing. I did daily drive it but, if you game it's find of a pain to use due to the screen ration being 32:9. If you are wanting to game I would honestly recommend a G7 or G5 as it makes it much easier to setup and in my opinion see. The build quality feels good. The stand is made of metal and the screen is easy to clean. ... show more

  • Productivity enhancer
What a great monitor. I use it for work, and if you use it with fancyzones it’s really a game changer for productivity. If you work with data, go for it. Also great on switch, looks pretty cool.

  • Horrible costumer service from Samsung
Warranty is not really 3 years, it's about a month, only what Amazon will do, but past that your out of luck. The monitor started going fuzzy on one side, then started shutting down and eventually became to much of an issue to deal with. SO after a couple months I registered with Samsung. This is horrible costumer service. I made the claim, they want to send a tech out, I thought great. They canceled the claim and work order, no reason to me the costumer. They did however start a new ticket in a different department, because they don't have any tech people in the area I live. Ok no issue with that, besides poor communication. Then I get contacted by this other department, assuring me that they will take care of the defective monitor. I get the all the information they request, pictures of serial numbers and the invoice. Had to do this a couple of times. They called, it was good promised the new monitor, by way of a credit, then just purchase another one. Still ok with that. They said it would take a couple of days to get approved. I'm Ok with that, 4 days later I had to check with them....Not ok with that. This is the part I am not happy at all with. We are still using the monitor, it shuts off, get fuzzy, does a 10 min recal. But we can use it most of the day. All of the sudden they say it is their policy to pick up the old monitor before they will approve the credit. They said they our policy and we told you that....no they didn't. So in order to get it replaced, we have to go without a monitor. As soon as I get a replacement they can have the monitor, no problem at all. What am I supposed to do until they determine the problem, just not have a monitor. So if I have to buy another one while they figure out if this one is bad or not, I can promise you that it will not be a Samsung. Avoid the brand! ... show more

  • Samsung 49" Odyssey OLED – Reliable After-Sales Support Makes All the Difference
I purchased the Samsung 49" Odyssey OLED monitor a few months ago and was thoroughly impressed with its stunning picture quality, deep blacks, vibrant colors, and ultra-wide immersive experience right from the start. It quickly became my favorite display for both work and gaming. Unfortunately, just within the first 90 days, the monitor suddenly stopped working. I was disappointed, especially given the premium price point. What pleasantly surprised me was Samsung’s warranty service. They arranged for a technician to come directly to my house for the repair — a huge plus for such a large and heavy monitor. No need to pack it up, ship it, or risk damage during transport. The technician handled everything professionally, and the monitor is now fully back up and running. I’m once again enjoying the incredible OLED visuals that made me buy it in the first place. While the early failure was frustrating, Samsung’s responsive and convenient customer support has restored my confidence in the product. If you’re considering this monitor, be aware that early issues can happen, but Samsung’s on-site warranty service is a strong safety net that’s worth factoring in. ... show more

  • Don't pay more than $800 for this - LG 45GX950A-B blows it out of the water at full price
Very nice display, has some issues. Main thing is the fact that it's actually two 27" panels fused side-by-side, not one big panel. That's all well and good, but if, like in the one I received, the two panels have very slightly mismatched brightness calibration, you'll get a nice little gradient right down the middle. Only really visible on dim grays, but very annoying once you notice it. Aside from that, there's some odd VRR-related behavior, random white flashes particularly when using Firefox. Not an issue I've noticed in games, and it's occasional enough that I don't really care that much, at least not yet. One last downside is that it only has one displayport input, and I haven't been able to get it to work at full res over HDMI, meaning I needed to pick up a 2>1 displayport switch in order to be able to switch between my desktop and work laptop without fiddling with cables twice a day. Not the worst thing in the world, just be aware of it before buying, and make sure you use DP 1.4+ cables that are 3 feet long or shorter - otherwise you're likely to get all sorts of lovely artifacting. Also, if you ever have to move, this thing is a PAIN to lug with you, but you probably knew that already. That aside, colors are beautiful, it's phenomenal in HDR, gets plenty bright, it's not nearly as heavy as you might expect, the three year burn-in warranty is good for peace of mind, and the field of view it gives you over a 16:9 is really nice in games or wide-shot movies. Don't be fooled by Amazon's perpetual "sale" price, though - the actual MSRP as listed on Samsung's website is $900 at time of writing, and even that is a bit much considering the other options on the market right now. ... show more

  • Exceeded my expectations
It's even better than I expected. The picture quality is amazing, and the widescreen aspect has worked well with every game I've tried it with, including some older titles. Also does great with work. The stand is beefy but works fine. It came with a VESA mount, which I didn't notice until after I ordered a separate one. Definitely recommend grabbing one when on sale. ... show more
