  • Great home work monitor for a Thunderbolt or DisplayPort over USB-C capable laptop!
Terrific monitor for working all day and consolidating your desktop gear. I used to think the curved monitor craze was just that. No more. I can work 10 hours a day on this thing with much less eye fatigue as compared to my two screen setup at work. Others folks that I have purchased these large format curved monitors for at work have reported similar results. It is particularly nice for large spreadsheet work, where a two monitor setup just doesn't quite match up!! Accountants take note! Purchased this specific monitor for a work at home office, to act as the all in one docking station for mostly Dell systems from work, and not require a two monitor setup on the desk. I find the Ultra-WQHD resolution to be good enough to make up for two 1080 monitors often found at work, for a clean desk at home. It also eliminated the need to have a separate docking station as the monitor has integrated power, sound/speakers and usb connectivity via the USB-C/Thunderbolt connection. I run a webcam, trackball, and keyboard, and cable to charge my cell phone. Have used the monitor with both DisplayPort over USB-C, and Thunderbolt 3 systems, and it charges both while working. Have not tried to add a Thunderbolt based hard drive to the chain yet, but I understand that the monitor will support and power it. USB-3 based HDDs work fine. I did end up adding an multi-system auto-switching usb 3 hub to be able to "KVM" switch between connected systems seamlessly. Really only needed if you need to connect an older HDMI based laptop limited to USB-3 (or older)....while not disconnecting the newer system. Setup works well, and although an expensive monitor, given the integrated docking station like capability, has been well worth the price. Hope it holds up over time! ... show more

  • Great Transition Into Ultra Wide Monitors
I bought this to replace two flat monitors that I had for my work setup, but this has been a great change. Samsung's electronics quality space for itself. Plenty of ports for everything that I need, and the screen looks incredible still. I'm not a super heavy gamer, but a couple of pc games that I've played have looked pretty good on here. Mostly used for work, but the ultra wide screen makes multitasking more convenient than the dual monitor setup. Clean and practical setup for a great price. ... show more

  • Huge and awesome
Looking at pictures and guessing just how big this is, you will be wrong. This is a very wide monitor. Get a tape measure out and check out your desk. Get a sheet of cardboard or something, just the tape measure doesn't do it justice. Loved NOT having to put the display together out of the box. Pre-assembled . The screen (without the bezel) is about the same height as my 27" which is what I wanted. I didn't realize that this one had the Picture by Picture until I was looking at the OSD on the display. I hooked my 2010 MacPro and a Windows machine to it and it works great. Mac on one half and Windows on the other side. You can also switch which computer you want on either side. You do have to have the computer you want to go back to full screen on the left side. I haven't really tried to see if you can pick which one goes full screen without switching it over to the left side. Just happy it works and just a few changes on the OSD menu so doesn't really take that long to change. Very little documentation on using PBP. Pretty much any review online said very little about it. I'm not a "Pro" so take it for what its worth but the text seems to be great to me, sharp and no blurriness or color shift that I can see using PBP or full screen on either computer. It does seem to be a bit bright with a web page open or looking at a document or anything with a white background at least in a dark environment. Haven't had a chance to play with the controls yet. No missing paint on the bezel and bezel was still whole with no gaps on mine. Hopefully they updated everything. No back light bleed that I could notice anyway. The joystick on the back of the display for the On Screen Menu isn't that bad. No worse then my Samsung 27" front panel "touch sensitive" buttons. I haven't really played with the FreeSync or using the 100hz display yet. Still trying to get my Steam games to work after building a new PC and moving my bootcamp games to a new SSD. The biggest problem seems to be going from W7 to W10. Unfortunately I don't have a Thunderbolt 3 capable computer so can't use the same keyboard/mouse on both computers. (I think, still tinkering with it). Which comes to my displeasure's with the display. 1-DP port and 1-HDMI port but two TB3 ports that supposedly you can't switch between. I don't have a TB3 capable computer so can't use it anyway. Would have liked to have both computers on DP but I figure having two different ports is the only way to have PBP? Also mine came with the "Leaning Tower of Pisa" mount. The display dips to the left almost an inch. Feels like the mount is a little loose. It will move up if you lift the corner. I believe another reviewer online mentioned they put a small weight or something on the back of the opposite side to level it. I have so much crap on my desk I just prop it up with whatever is handy at the moment, at least until i look at the mount and see if I can do anything about it. More likely when the wife gives me the evil eye about my mess. Speaking of which, the draw back of having a pretty back side is you have to have a funky vesa mount adapter to mount it on an arm. Which it did come with. I still get a chuckle when you move a large window from one side of the display to the other as it looks like your sliding a panel instead of a window with the curved display. ... show more

  • Great Screen - USB Hub takes some work.
I bought this monitor work my WFH set up, and it's made life a lot better. I went from being in an office and having two screens to working off one due to limitations of Virtual Machines. This monitor gave me some nice real estate for my programs. Picture is great, colors are great, easy to connect through display port. The USB Hub - Thunderbolt connection works decently well. I connected it to my laptop with success on the first try. Upon reconnecting, it stopped working. I found I had to delete the screen from the Thunderbolt Manager on the laptop and reconnect. Works. Standard USB - C. This took some serious troubleshooting. Didn't work out of the box. Here's the steps I took and it now works. - 1 - Connected to my laptop through thunderbolt first. - 2 - Disconnected from laptop - Plugged into my desktops USB - C port. Suddenly started working. - 3 - I also disabled and re enabled the USB Hub feature of the screen through the settings. Repeated steps 1 and 2. - 4 - Installed the latest firmware on the monitor through USB Stick(Don't know if this step is needed) - Tricks for firmware - - USB Stick needs to be FAT 32 - Monitor can't be connected through Thunderbolt or USB C to anything - I had to rename the downloaded .BIN file as was suggested by another website. In the end my monitor's USB Hub is connected to my desktop with a USB-C(monitor) to USB-A(Desktop) cable and is working without fail. ... show more
