🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Customers have praised the monitor for its immersive gaming experience, high refresh rate, and the noticeable difference in visual quality compared to lower-resolution monitors. Despite some criticisms towards the monitor stand's adjustability and durability, the overall consensus is positive, highlighting the monitor's value for its price point, suitability for both gaming and general use, and enhanced visual experience due to the curved screen and sharp display.

Pros

  • 🖥️ High refresh rate (165Hz with DP cable, 144Hz with HDMI)
  • 👓 Immersive gaming experience with ultra-wide and curved screen options
  • 🖼️ Excellent visual quality and sharpness, making a noticeable difference from lower resolutions
  • 🔄 75mm VESA mount compatibility for ease of installation
  • 👁️ Reduced eye strain with the 1000R curve design

Cons

  • 🛠️ Stand's lack of adjustability and reported durability issues
  • 🎮 No height adjustment option for the monitor stand
  • 💡 Some complaints about glare when the screen is off, though not problematic during use
  • 🔊 Built-in speakers may not function properly (though not a concern for users who don’t rely on them)

Should I Buy It?

If you're in the market for a high-quality gaming monitor that provides an immersive experience without breaking the bank, this monitor is a solid choice. It offers great visual quality, a high refresh rate, and a curved screen for enhanced viewing. Though the stand's adjustability and durability raise some concerns, these are relatively minor compared to the overall performance and value of the monitor. Ideal for gamers and general users alike, this monitor deserves consideration if it meets your budget and technical requirements.

  • WHERE DO I START
Size: 34-inch Style: G5 Pattern: Curved Ultra WQHD, 165Hz
I had a G5 early model back when it was a 32" monitor. Loved it, the size was perfect and it was just the best for gaming and music production. Lots of space. However, human nature has to ruin everything. As embarrassing as it is to admit, one night I got killed in a way that sent me just a little bit too much and I punched probably the most expensive option that I had, the monitor. Completely broke it in multiple ways, the only part of the monitor that worked was the lowest left corner. Great. Just broke my $350 monitor. OK, let's check Amazon and just get another one. $550????? I didn't feel too good about my emotions at that point but hey, work was good and it looked like they upped the size and hz from the previous G5. Boy did they ever. This thing is incredible. The curve and size might be a little to adjust to but once you game on this thing you'll never feel normal playing anything on a flat monitor. It's so much smoother (165hz vs 144), it fills your entire vision, it's just the ultimate experience for anything, from Counter Strike to Forza. Don't even bother to check BenQ, just do yourself a favor and buy this. Samsung killed it with the 32" but knocked it out of the PARK with the 34. ... show more

  • Ole Reliable
Size: 27-inch Style: G50A (2022 model) Pattern: Flat QHD, 165Hz
I have two of these monitors for a dual screen setup and they both work fantastic. The only issue I've ever come across is sometimes they switch back and forth between hdr being on and off. I have no idea where that issue lies, either within the monitors themselves or maybe my graphics card, but when I go into settings for display and turn it off I don't have to worry about it so I'm not. Everything else about these monitors is great. The high quality, the built-in headphone jack (which to me is more like a luxury) and the fact that it's so easy to make changes like brightness. I have 165hz which is overkill to me so I'm sure these will be my monitors for life lol. If you're unsure get these on sale, they're worth the price to me either way. ... show more

  • Awsome Value!
Size: 27-inch Style: G50A (2022 model) Pattern: Flat QHD, 165Hz
Update: This is an HDR10 monitor but you won't get the 10 bit color range unless you set the refresh rate to 120MHZ in either the windows display settings or preferably the Nvidia control panel. After some research I learned that it's a physical limitation of the DP cable. For best visual performance you should set the refresh rate to 120MHZ in your GPU's control panel then limit the FPS to 118 and turn on G-Sync. Then disable V-Sync in all your games. Note: 10 bit color is the point of HDR. 8 bit has been around forever, it's 16.7 million colors. 10 bit is the new stuff and what HDR is all about. It provides 1.07 billion colors. If you push the refresh rate over 120 windows will automatically switch to 8 bit with dithering, AKA Fake HDR. PS It went on sale and we just bought a second one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pros: It's near impossible to find a monitor with all these features for less than $600. This is my 1st HDR and 2k gaming monitor and I've been going through my games, Hogwarts, Forspoken, Kena, Metro Exodus, Ratchet & Clank and everything has so much more detail and clarity. FYI I have an MSI RTX 4070 12GB OC and the frame generation (for the few games that support it) is awesome. It makes the CPU bottleneck of my old i7 4790k seem to disappear. Everything was easy to setup, G-Sync, HDR. The 350 avg nits is plenty bright enough for gaming on a screen barely three feet from you. FYI The top of the monitor at max height is 22-3/4" and 18" at the lowest height adjustment. It adjusts easily with one hand. The Height Adjustable Stand is spring loaded to the weight of the screen, so don't try to adjust it until it's all together and sitting on a flat surface. CON!: OMG the flashing blue LED! If you plan to sleep anywhere near this make sure you have some black electrical tape to cover the power LED. It's bright and if the monitor has power, it FLASHES NON STOP unless the monitor is 'active'. (showing an image, not sleeping or on standby). The only way to stop it is unplugging the power cord. So be ready to cover it up. ... show more

  • Should be 5+ but
Size: 27-inch Style: G55C (2024 model) Pattern: Curved QHD, 165Hz
Like the title says, this should be a 5* but speakers are dead. I don’t use the monitor speakers but they should work and I had to take a star away for that. Overall: The G5 27” is. fantastic deal on a top contender for its price class. 2560x1440 @ 165Hz via DP cable, and 144Hz via HDMI cable. The feature I love most about this monitor (and my last Samsung) is the 1000R curve. After using this curve for a few years, I can tell you first hand that the difference in eye strain using this monitor is considerably less for me than flat screens and even other curved monitors. Samsung produces the most models with the 1000R curve as far as I am aware. Colors are great, blacks are really good. Games have great depth in the environments and they look so realistic, it’s like a movie in some games it’s so smooth. I’m using a RTX4070 8GB to drive this one which helps with texture quality but it’s still the monitor creating the visual. . The menu shstem is pictured. It’s all done in Samsung fashion with a single push to open menu/select option, with joystick navigation Simply pulling “forward” on the joystick opens the volume adjustment slider for easy volume changes, and pull twice to mute feature. Once you get the hang of it, It’s simple to operate. I’d recommend it if this is your budget for a monitor. I bought one and put the other on layaway. I wanted to teat this one before getting them both. ... show more

  • Great monitor!
Size: 32-inch Style: G55A (2022 model) Pattern: Curved, QHD, 165Hz
I purchased this to replace an LG 34" ultra-wide monitor that I accidentally broke. This monitor is longer in vertical length but the curvature really immerses you in the screen and has great resolution. I use this for work at home and is attached to a belkin dock for my M1 mac air. Would highly recommend and great price. ... show more
