I've been wearing Salomon hiking boots for years. They have always been very comfortable, but not necessarily waterproof, even when claimed. Also I've had problems with the plastic coated laces--not good for this lady! I bought this pair and wasn't sure but it fits well. I walk nearly 1 mile + or - a day. I am 75 years old. I love these boots. They are my favorite. I bought a second pair. They are the closest thing to water-proof that I have experienced. Now they are not waders, but I just walked through flooded places today, not over 2 inches. My boots were wet on the top but my feet were dry. This is an excellent choice for me. The laces on these are good, they've never come loose on me. They are very comfortable boots. I'd give these boots A+.

I wore my hikers for the first time today in the creek beds. we had a ton of rain, and I had to walk in shallow water along the creek. I never immersed my entire shoe, but about 2 miles in, after getting the top of the shoe wet, stepping in a few puddles, I felt moisture under my toe. I was so so dissapointed. the Tongue of the shoe is completely attached to the lace. my only thought was the fabric on the top, absorbing the water, some leaked trough. Sad! :( Regarding the overall shape and feel. I've been wearing Solmon low rise summer hikers for years now. This was my first winter pair. The shoe feels a bit bulky. and the Tongue is very open at the top lace due to the fact that the material below is permanently attached to keep water out. so there's a lot of width between the sides of the shoe at the top lace. This is the only way you can get your foot in by having a wide space at the top of the shoe. :( I think Solomon could have done a much better job, like including two zippers down each side of the shoe then only lace off the top. this way you still keep water out, but not have such huge , bulky space on top. You'll see if you buy them, but i wont by again.

These are very comfortable, it did take a couple of days to get them broken in, but that's not bad. I love the ankel support and the toe box for room. I wear orthotics so that works good. I'm always looking for hiking boots because I walk dogs and my own so they get worn out pretty fast, I get a new pair around 2 times per year. It's not fun when you have to look for boots, so many and I'm pretty picky. But Salomon has been my choice lately. I've tried Merrell, (Not bad, used them for a couple of years), Keen, (NOT Keen on Keens) just don't like the way they look like crap so fast and the design outside, the boots themselves are not bad either, just not my cup of tea. I've tried some other less known brands, but definitely not worth trying, I won't go into details. I'm just happy with the Salomon brand, and I have even had mens boots in the Salomon, they are 150% better then any other boot I've worn. But just as I found the ONE, now I can't buy them anymore, drives me nuts.. Salomon does an excellent job for a comfortable, Long lasting, waterproof boot.

Walked on rocks, dirt and dust, did not even slip ones. But I would not recommend these for hot season weather, they do not let air through and it gets really hot. Also, received a contract dermatitis from the ankle material. So if u have such issue, wear high socks

I love this brand so much. and it has always accommodated my orthotics. My new boots however do not leave room for orthotics in the toes area. The top of my big toes touch the shoe before I even move my foot. So very disappointed as I was looking forward to a new pair and this brand is all I have ever worn.

These boots were prefect for hiking on wet and snowy trails. Easy to break-in and offered good arch support and traction. Ordered a size 7 and I usually wear a 7.5 in a running shoe. These fit perfectly!
