{Update to my original review now that I’ve had these for awhile I thought it would be useful to follow up. I’ve worn these walking, hiking, and as a daily commuter shoe and seriously these are May favorite shoes like EVER!!!! Totally stand up on rocky trails and light enough for daily walking. } I was looking for some more grippy shoes i can take on hikes and not slip around like in my normal running shoes. These are SO comfortable! I havent tested them on a trail yet but i've been wearing them for my commute and they are amazing. definitely recommend.

I had not heard of the Salomon brand and did a bit of research before ordering this shoe. I would say that this shoe fits to size. I ordered an 8 and it fits fine with an athletic low cut sock. The heel has about an inch raise to it, and the foot bed with a lower drop. They are supportive around the heel and the ankle and the laces can be tied to your preference for running /hiking. In my opinion, the great part of these sneakers is the rubber exterior lining the lower half of the foot and around the toes. This makes it a bit more protective on those rainy/snowy runs and hikes while not necessarily wanting to wear a whole hiking/waterproof shoe. The sole has grips for the trails, while not providing holes and divots for debris to get stuck in. This makes them a little easier to keep clean as well. I like the simple black and white contrast with a pop of color. I have been wearing these daily for over a week and have had no issue in the arches, toes or heels as of yet. I do suffer from planter's fasciitis (in my left foot) and these shoes do seem to have a good support to my foot for some relief. The brand seems to be well supported and so far I am enjoying getting familiar with their product.

I have had so many pairs of Salomon’s. The trail runners are what I consider to be the top in the market. I have street Salomon’s and now these shoes. Now, I would not wear these for hiking, as i like to feel the ground under my feet. These I consider daily wear, or street with extra. The are super sticky on the bottom so that one does not slip on the trail or conditions where a harder sole would slide. These do have the same pattern as my trail runners, but the material looks a bit different, so I don’t know how these hold up under rough conditions. I find these not as soft as some casual shoes, but still comfortable with a wide toe box. The sizing is pretty correct. One always wants to have a bit more in the toe length area if using these for hiking. Note that the soles of Salomon hiking shoes are softer for that good grab on rocks and surfaces,, so always remember that rough concrete or hard paved roads will wear them down quickly. I consider this new style a win for me for work and play!

These shoes are excellent for hiking. They're true to size and my foot doesn't slip or slide around. It also doesn't rub on the back and my toes don't hit the front when going downhill which had been a problem with my previous shoes. They have great cushion and support and excellent grip especially on smooth rocks or dusty surfaces.

I love Salomon hiking shoes -we like to take a lot of waterfall hikes in state parks near us - so got these shoes as I get ready for early spring adventures! My hikes are generally on trails that are tourist friendly, but still have plenty of roots and rooks, and can be pretty slippery after a rain! I took these out for a test hike on a path near me - they felt just as I expect Salomon’s to feel- nice and solid on pine straw (can be slippery), gravel, and general trail debris (acorns and other things to roll under foot). The soles of the shoes are designed to grip, but not pick up and hold any trail debris the way running shoes sometimes can with open-areas that can be annoying to clean out when you get home (see pictures of bottoms post hike). I use orthotics in my shoes, and these fit those well. I wear 9.5 in most athletic shoes, and this pair of 9.5s fit comfortably as expected.

The translucent yellow matches really well with cream whites. I liked the color more than I thought I would and the shoe itself was comfy to run in but it runs a bit large. I’m a 7.5 and I think I need a 7 in this brand or specific shoe.
