Sagrada, a board game inspired by the breathtaking stained glass windows of the Sagrada Família in Barcelona, is a true marvel that combines strategic gameplay with stunning aesthetics. Crafted with precision and care, this game is a delightful experience that challenges players to create their own unique stained glass masterpieces. The first thing that strikes players upon opening the box is the sheer beauty of the game components. The colorful translucent dice, representing different shades and numbers, are reminiscent of the vibrant stained glass pieces found in the iconic basilica. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the game, from the custom dice to the carefully designed player boards. The tactile satisfaction of placing the dice on the board to complete intricate patterns is immensely gratifying. Gameplay in Sagrada is elegantly simple yet offers a depth of strategic choices. Players must carefully select and place dice on their individual player boards while adhering to specific placement rules. The challenge lies in balancing personal objectives, public objectives, and the restrictions imposed by the unique board patterns. The game's mechanics encourage critical thinking and forward planning, making each turn a satisfying puzzle to solve. Sagrada's replay value is outstanding due to the variety of tools and objectives available in each game. The inclusion of private and public objectives adds a layer of unpredictability, ensuring that each session feels fresh and engaging. The game accommodates both casual players and those seeking a more competitive experience, thanks to the flexibility of its difficulty levels. The game's aesthetics are complemented by its serene atmosphere, with the soft colors and elegant design fostering a sense of tranquility during play. The clever use of the theme and the integration of the Sagrada Família's artistic inspiration create an immersive experience that goes beyond the mechanics of the game. Sagrada is a brilliant blend of strategy and artistry. Its meticulous design, engaging gameplay, and thematic immersion make it a standout in the world of board gaming. Whether you're a seasoned strategist or a casual player looking for a visually stunning and mentally stimulating experience, Sagrada is a masterpiece that deserves a place on every tabletop. ... show more

    • Enjoyable Game!

Review Image by CraftyCG
This was the most fun new game I've played in a while, enjoyed by teens, young adults, and not-so-young parents. We loved it so much that when we gifted it in an exchange (and played it later that night at the same party), we immediately ordered our own set. The pieces are absolutely beautiful and well-constructed. Game play is balanced between individual strategy, other players' decisions, and a little luck of the draw. Games are a good length (10 rounds for about 30-40 minutes total), and turns are quick enough that there's not a lot of waiting on other people. Each game is a little different based on the objective and tool cards drawn for the duration of that game. It did seem like a lot of rules to absorb for the first time we played, but they were fairly intuitive and that just made us really eager to play game #2! One suggestion for players is to find a small flat tray to roll the dice into so that they can be slid to players who might not be able to reach/see them all. A suggestion for developers is that the (unnecessary?) numbers on the tool cards tried to confuse just about every person who we taught to play. ... show more

    • An Amazing game with endless fun and strategy!
Size: 1. Standalone Style: a ) Standalone: Sagrada
Sagrada is a fantastic board game that delivers hours of entertainment with friends and family! The premise is simple yet engaging, draft colorful dice to construct a beautiful stained-glass window while navigating various placement restrictions. The gameplay is easy to learn, making it accessible for all ages, but the strategic depth keeps every round fresh and exciting. Replayability is one of its strongest features as no two games feel the same, thanks to different objectives and randomized dice rolls. Whether playing casually or diving into competitive strategies, Sagrada offers something for everyone. I love that the games do not take to long to complete. We have definitely gotten our money out of this game and play it almost every game night. It’s a perfect mix of luck and skill, keeping players engaged without feeling overwhelming. The elegant design and gorgeous components add to the experience, making it a joy to play. If you’re looking for a unique, beautiful game that brings people together for endless fun, Sagrada is a must-have! ... show more

    • Fun, quick, puzzly game
Size: 1. Standalone Style: a ) Standalone: Sagrada
I hate dice games but I love games that take random dice rolls and ask you to do something strategic with them. So while the luck of the dice color draw and roll may or may not work for your plans, you do have agency in the use of those dice in regards to choosing and playing them appropriately in your 'window'. Players can block others with their choice of dice-taking but it's not as cut-throat or strategic as 'Azul' in that regard. The variety in the dice and all the different cards also give Sagrada a high replay value. Your play area, or 'window', has its own card with set numbers and colors you need to match and work with; the ways you get points are based on cards that are different each game; you get a different personal goal each game; and there are variable 'tool' cards that give you different ways of swapping dice or changing your board. Sagrada also has a relatively quick play time and is quite snappy with 2 players, making it the sort of game you can play a couple times in a row. It's also very colorful and satisfying to look at with well-made components and you can pack the entire game into half a gallon zip bag if you want to take it somewhere without the box. I have about 100 games in my collection and Sagrada is a great addition. I like to use "Castles of Burgundy" as a very loose comparison, as they are both games that use random dice rolls that require strategy to use, though CoB is a much deeper and longer playing game - Sagrada is a nice appetizer for table top gamers used to meatier games and will likely be a satisfying main course for those new to tabletop gaming. ... show more
