This chair works well with straps that keep it attached to the chair and seat belts for safety. The tray is too close to the chair to use it so I don't use it.

I actually purchased two! I have two grandbabies (16 months / 19 months) and love these boosters. The seats attach to regular table chairs really well (very sturdy) and there are three height adjustments. The littles love sitting at the table being part of the family versus off to the side.
