Loved chapter 4 The Search for Shalom. Loved chapters 9-18 especially 17 A Towel and a Basin and 18 An Eternal Glory. Such an easy, comforting, and inspiring read. So relatable in living conditions today. Reassuring and constantly reminding me of what is important. Love the prayers at the end of the later chapters. Last sentences in her epilogue. “ I pray that you experience the deep peace that comes from knowing that God sees the whole path, the whole river, and has intentions only to bring you safely home. The deep peace that is found only in Jesus.” In Him, we are safe all along ... show more

Have you ever been in a place where your stomach churns and your mind races with anxious thoughts during sleepless nights? This is where Katie Davis Majors begins her book Safe All Along: Trading Our Fears And Anxieties for God’s Unshakable Peace. Katie finds herself at a place in her Christian life she thought she would never be- seeking help and answers from a therapist and seeking God for healing and comfort. With daily practices, Katie provides practical ways to help us live out the peace that Jesus promises. Some of these practices include; prayer, praise, presence, re-thinking our to-do lists, rest, embracing forgiveness and waiting in hope. I love Kate’s heart for Jesus and His children. This book is full of the Word of God and sweet stores from Katie’s life. It encouraged me because of how vulnerable Katie is in sharing her struggles with fear and anxiety. She reminds us that no matter how long we have been a believer we can have seasons that test our faith and try to steal our peace. We all need reminded we are not alone and that we all struggle at times with fear but God can help us through those times. She gives many practical ways to help us overcome and get back to the peace and joy God longs for us to experience! ... show more

    • Very good… different than other books
I have LOVED Katie’s books. I don’t even know how many times I’ve read Daring to Hope. So when I saw a new one was coming out I preordered it MONTHS before release. Safe All Along is very good but I was a little disappointed it’s pretty different than her other books. Like a different style. Again, still would recommend it but it just feels different and I haven’t nailed down quite what it is. One piece is that the first two books were more just focused on her story. This one switches back and forth from her story to more of a normal Christian living/non-fiction book. It has tips and suggestions for how to connect it to your life, which can be great, just not what I was expecting since the other books seemed (as best as I can remember in this moment) to almost read a little more novel-ish… just telling her story. This book is fantastic! It helps you walk through struggles and disappointments with life and God to get to the root of your worries. So many therapists focus on the behavior and changing the behavior. They give you advice (take a walk, exercise, breathing, etc) to change behavior. She asks great questions to get to the root of the behavior. When the root is addressed the damaging behavior, worry, anxiety goes away. My advice is to really journal answers to her questions. Don’t just think about the answers. Jesus is the answer! Such a great practical book!!!! ... show more

I believe if we are honest we all have times of fear and anxiety. Katie shares openly and vulnerably about her experiences and how she has found peace in God that can't be uprooted by our circumstances. Viewing life from above and seeing how trustworthy, loving and powerful our God is will help us through those rough times. I highly recommend this book for all who have struggled and I am praying about who I can bless by sharing it with them. Katie has greatly enriched our lives and helped us grow through her writings and she continues to do this. I hope you will get this very important resource and find your peace in Him. ... show more
