This 18K gold-plated sterling silver necklace arrived in a velvet-like drawstring bag that was placed inside a clear plastic bag. Upon examination, I measured the chain at 24" from end to end. I also used my calipers and measured the chain width at 2.85 mm, which is very close to the advertised 3 mm. I'm not a jeweler, so I can't verify whether this is truly 925 sterling silver or genuine 18K gold plating, but the chain is non-magnetic, which is a good sign. The lobster clasp works well and springs closed securely, helping to prevent it from coming undone. Due to its small size, the clasp can be somewhat difficult to operate with larger hands. Fortunately, I can just barely slip the necklace over my head, so I don't have to deal with the clasp very often. The only marking on the necklace is an "S925" stamp on the clasp. There is no country of origin listed on either the necklace or the packaging. The necklace weighs 15 grams and feels comfortable around my neck. I've worn it continuously for several days and have not noticed any signs of wear, tarnishing, or discoloration. The twisted rope design is well executed and looks attractive. When I loop back the necklace 180 degrees, the distance between the strands is about 1/2". Because of this construction, I would avoid putting excessive pressure on it. For example, I wouldn't place the necklace in a pocket or anywhere else where it could become bent or kinked. Overall, it's a good-looking necklace that appears to be well made.

I got this chain for my teenage son. Apparently they are popular now with that age group. It is a good length and thicker than I expected. I got him the gold version and it doesn't look brassy or cheap. It has not tarnished or turned green despite wearing it in warm weather against a sweaty neck. It is sturdy enough that it does not easily tangle. It stays put, hanging down rather than getting stuck up against his skin. He is very pleased with this and I consider it to be a good value considering the surprising quality of the chain.

I bought this as a gift for my wife. The product looks gorgeous in hand. The price was very competitive and could be a great value for the money if it keeps its shine and luster. One thing to point out though and why I took a star off, it may not be compatible with your skin. My wife wore it without any issue but when I put it on, my skin got very irritated. Not sure why as I wear jewelry from time to time without issue. Despite this hiccup, I do think it is a good buy. The product page provides several length options to order and again it seems quite affordable for a gold-plated product. Cheers!

This sterling silver is gold plated with 18k gold. What I love about the base metal being sterling is that (someday) after the gold has worn off, it will still be wearable. With other base metals, it would just be junk. This is handsome for a man but also would be ideal as a chunky layering piece for women. I love this with my baroque pearl. The quality is definitely there, the length is perfect, sitting right below the man’s neckline and a bit lower for a woman. Great price for sterling with 18k gold plate. The rope chain is a classic.

I went with the eighteen-inch chain for a more choker look for my pencil neck. The chain feels light and comfortable. The metal is shiny and catches the light well without appearing gaudy. I don’t always have the greatest manual dexterity working with small items. I was able to put the chain on without great difficulty. However, I did have to turn the clasp to the front and look in a mirror to remove the chain. Overall, nice adornment.
