I am usually a size L but I ordered the XL because this costume is supposed to be loose and I'd rather have to take it in than try to let it out. I am 5'7 for height reference and the gown does not reach my ankles but still seems long enough. The gown is a thick and 100% polyester. The fabric is actually slightly glittery up close, but it isn't noticeable from conversation distance. The hood is nice and big like in the movie and the sleeves are big and long without being inconvenient. The gown is slightly sheer despite being thick, so make sure you have a slip or at least skin color matching underwear. The belt has velcro fastening the back, it fits me well but I am very hourglass. The XL belt is 33" around when fully closed, because of the length of the velcro strip you could have it tighter or looser. The wig looks great but was too small for my head. My head is 23" around and I have long thick hair, so this may not be a problem for most people. The side buns on the wig are fairly small, nowhere near as big as in the movie.Each bun is 3.5 inches across. Out of the package the costume smells strongly of formaldehyde, so I would recommend a gentle wash on cold for the dress and a line airing out for all of it. This is a nice option for a Princess Leia's A New Hope costume if you don't want to have to make it from a pattern. For reference I am not wearing the wig in the photo of me in the costume. Since my hair is long and dark brown I will make my own cinnamon roll hair buns. The gun in the picture is a nerf gun I modded and does not come with the costume. ... show more

Size: Medium Color: White
Sizing: I'm 5'8". Based on other reviews, I thought I might need a size Large for the dress to be long enough. However, the Large was sewn badly, with the sleeves obviously different lengths. I tried the Medium instead. It was sewn perfectly and was actually longer than the Large. It fell to my lower ankles/tops of the feet. Positives: Compared to Rubie's older version of this costume, the hood on this version is much improved - much closer to the screen version. That really sells this version. The side slits are slightly smaller, and the sleeve openings have slightly more drape. Neutral: The material has a slight silver shimmer to it. It's thin, so plan to have a neutral-colored slip or other body wear you can wear under it. Negatives: The belt isn't great. The rubber version in Rubie's older version looked more legit. Also, as all the other reviewers have noted, the wig is embarrassing. Since the hairstyle is what makes or breaks this costume, it's a shame that Rubie's didn't put more effort into it. It has thin spots, and the buns are barely twisted pieces of hair lazily held together with a rubberband. On mine, they weren't even in a bun shape. Overall verdict: The dress is a great base for a Princess Leia cosplay, but plan to buy your belt and wig separately. ... show more

I got this costume for Halloween to match with my boyfriend who dressed up as Han Solo. I am a 5’2 14 year old girl. I weight 103 pounds and this costume fits perfectly! It seems like it’s kinda long in the picture because I was standing in grass but in reality it gets to my ankles. Even though the costume is really nice, it is really see through so I recommend to wear something under! The wig sucks so I also recommend to get those donut thingys for hair to do the buns which is what I did. ... show more

I was skeptical with some of the reviews and was afraid it would not fit. I took a chance and ordered this for a family Halloween costume and it was perfect for my needs! the dress fit well. it has a little shimmer to it. It was roomy without being too bulky. Im 5'3" and it was not too long! The dress is a little sheer, so definitely wear layers. I wore a pair of white capri leggings and a white shirt underneath. The wig is a little wonky. the buns are kinda small but the hood hides it all well without losing the character. The belt was a bit snug. I bought a plus size costume supposed to fit up to size 20. I don't know....it wont happen for those on the larger size of the spectrum if it was snug on me. overall the costume works for my needs and I recommend it. ... show more

The dress it’s self fit great but the belt was too tight. I was about to make it work but if you are on the curvier side, you may want to go up a size. Also the dress is shimmery and see through. You have to wear a slip with it. The wig is terrible though. Very cheesy! There were random pieces of the wig cut and I had to completely re-do the buns myself. I think it’s a really cute costume. The attached photos are the wig that came with the costume, but I did order a separate wig because there were so many horrible wig reviews. I really didn’t think the wig was that bad for a Halloween get-up. Probably not good enough for cosplay, but totally passable for a Halloween party or work contest. Size wise, if you aren’t sure I’d order up. I found it TTS or a little small if anything. I am 5’6, 117lbs, and usually wear a size 2. I got the small and am happy with it. In the movie, Leia’s was really quite baggy so I would have needed to size up to a medium I think to get that look. The size small belt is a little big on me though so I'd imagine the medium belt would be huge on me. (My waist is a 26.) but the small works fine. Overall a cute and good quality costume and I’m pleased. (For anyone viewing the photos, apologies for the dog photo bombers who think any toy in my hand is for them.) ... show more

This is an excellent quality costume. The robe is pretty nice, but very lightweight material. I got this for my daughter, and we both liked the bit of silver shimmer to the fabric. I liked that the hood was generous and deep, the way you see it in the movie. The belt is pretty good, too. It's a white polyvinyl fabric, with foam and metal for the ornamentation on it. It is sized for an adult waist, and I've got a tall skinny kid, but I don't think it'll be hard to take it in. I took one star off for the wig that comes with it. It's a pretty sad looking wig for an otherwise great costume. The buns are really small, which aren't how they're supposed to be, and the wig looks tiny, like the buns for end up in a weird place. I haven't had her try the wig on, I'm just going to give it to goodwill and find a better one. It looks that sad. ... show more

This fit me like an absolute dream. Not too tight but not too loose. And the hem is perfect! I'm 5'5 about 153lbs, ordered a large. Curvy in the hips with a bit of a mom belly. The belt hides that and I still have room to layer - being in Alaska it's gonna be cold! The wig was awful, the buns are so small and the wig barely fits. I might just use it to tuck my hair up and keep my hood on, so no one can see how awful it is lol. May also buy some Leia ear muffs for the warmth. The fabric has a beautiful shimmer.
