My son would not take this off - the material was thicker than expected (in a GOOD way...not the flimsy material costumes are typically made of). The one thing that caught me off guard is that the backpack's straps are attached with velcro, so if you plan on using it for any amount of weight, you might want to sew them together to prevent it falling off of your kid. This costume won't last through a ton of wearing, but made it through 1 Halloween party and two rounds of trick-or-treating type events without any major issues. Fit my 3.5 year old really well. Probably will need to get some double-sided tape to really seal the airflow vent for the costume to properly blow up. But it was super cute and worked awesomely. Also, my daughter is 5 and average size the head hole was strange but we made it work.
