I didn't really want to buy a costume on-line because you never know what the size might really be like. I bought 2 sizes of this costume, small & large. The small barely fit my 7 yr old; it was almost too small for her and she's pretty small. She did like it except for the underskirt. It was really scratchy, but we solved that by putting on an extra long shirt underneath it. The large was too large for my 9 yr old and she's bigger than most 9 yr olds. I had to take it in a bit on the sleeves. The costume came with a belt/ scarf, so we used that around the waist to make it look smaller. Also came with shoe covers to make it look like they wore pirate boots. They were too small for my younger daughter and too big for my older daughter. Overall, the costumes were good; just the size issue was a problem. They'll probably not use them next year anyway. ... show more

This costume is very cute for tween girls. It was perfect for the pirate night on the Disney cruise! It will make a great Halloween costume too. It's a pirate costume with a little punk added to it. This costume fit perfectly in her size!

Received first dress and thought it was just a defect, as the skull and swords in the picture look fully glittered (the reason I was buying for my 4-year-old) however, no glitter.
