Construction is very good. I wound up getting 2 so I could have 100 gallons. I will use mostly for the fish tanks I am setting up but it is nice to have extra in case the water pump goes out. Just put through a Brita and you have clean water!

I love this rainbarrel - there are a few small issues and then a larger one i have with this. the small ones are the plastic spigot - doesnt feel too sturdy to me, there should have been a hose for the back overflow or to hook to the main spigot - even a short one would have been helpful. the screen on the top - while i realize is needed to keep out debris - i think the holes are too small - when we get a heavy rain, and the rain comes out the gutter the issue i am having is the overflow spout at the top in the front, the water pours out and i have gotten water in my basement because of it. any suggestion what to do? is that because the rain barrel is too full or because those slots are too small and the rushing water from the gutter just is coming too fast? I must have taken out almost 25 gallons of water the other day so hoping that helps when we have our next heavy rain - but if there are any other suggestions that would be great.. ... show more

It's easy to install. Make sure you have a drill and a inch spade bit though. Making the hole was the hardest part of install and it wasn't hard. It's been holding my rain water for a couple months and I couldn't be happier:)

Love it so much I've purchased 3. More expensive than putting together your own, but if you don't have the ability to source, transport, and assemble one from a recycled barrel this is a great option. If you want to chain them, it can be done without drilling a hole, they just have to all be on the same level. There's a video on YouTube but I don't remember the creators name ... show more
